Twice in recent auctions the winning bidders have claimed that they have sent me cash for items. Bidder #1 (Auction ended 19th January) cannot remember the date he sent the money or if it was airmail or surface (UK to Australia) but it was in a green envelope.
Bidder #2 (Auction ended 17th January) was sent 6 emails requesting what method of payment would be used no reply! email #7 produced this response "money sent 6th Feb". email #8 asking for type of payment and method of posting and also why the bidder hadn't told me this before produced this response
" Cash well wrapped and somebody else opens my mail when I am out of the
office and things get missed...."
I would like to believe these two bidders but I am not going to send them the items in question for free. Does this seem like a poor excuse for not paying or genuine? Whats does anyone else think?

It's their responsibility to see that you get your payment safely, just as it's your responsibility upon receipt of payment to see that they get their auction purchase safely.
If you haven't received any money, and they were cavalier enough about it that they sent you cash in an unregistered, non-traceable way, then you definitely shouldn't send any items.
It's their own fault you don't get the payment, so it's not your burden to absorb the loss.

To all you sellers out there who are getting frustrated and abused by:
· Non-paying bidders
· paypal charge backs
· Bounced checks
· Fraud problems
· Negative feedback for no good reason (retaliation)
I found out the hard way that safe harbor and FBI don’t do a thing about it, and I signed up for a sitesentury.com, a security company that will do REAL investigations. Check out their site, I signed up for their service and I put their log on all my auctions and the bad guys will think twice before they mess with me!!!!!!! It is like having a security guard by my side protecting me!!! Which car do you thing the thieves like to break-in: one with alarm-on or one without??? That is what the log will do for you.
The investigator already got me some of the money I lost on bounced checks and the bank fee too!!!!!!
Do yourself a favor and check out sitesentry.com

Guthrie; They are trying to rip you off -- do not send the item(s)! They should know better than to send cash with out a way to trace it ! I get dead beats all the time, right now I am still waiting over a month for payment for three items that one buyer bought! And another buyer bought 3 items and it has been a month, and safe harbor will not do anything! I really do not know why safe harbor is here anyway, except to get you to sign up to them so they can get your money! And if you leave a non-paying bidder notice, they (the dead-beats) give you a neg. on the fb? and then if you just let it go, you lose your listing fees!! Dead-Beats are a big problem, but it would not be as big a problem if ebay and safe harbor would do something about them!! Thanks for letting me get my 2 cents in, before AW gets it! .
