According to this article right here on AW http://www.auctionwatch.com/awdaily/dailynews/1-021600.html the online arm of the New York Times is teaming up with FairMarket. I thought the Times was one of the backers of Classified Ventures, the owners of Auctions.Com? If so, why is one of their subsidiaries using another auction house and what sort of message does this send about the future of AC?

I read the announcement you referenced here and on other sites carrying this news.

Let me suggest that if one did a word search of the article in their browser they would not find the word "exclusive."

Other than that observation of what was not said in the article, I cannot comment.
