So no more BidSafe after April 15th.....I know you all were having problems with California, but I like being able to accept credit cards without having a merchant account. The escrow part didn't matter to me too much and I only had 2 sales that used it but still.......
My insurance coverage is still active, thank goodness. Hmmm, well judging from the e-mail I got, I have hopes that a new credit card acceptance program is on the horizon (and some other new toys too?)
Just as I start getting excited about getting back into the game (I am getting my business license on Wednesday) I get this depressing news. My entreprenurial spirit is a little deflated. I was really depressed earlier--I was actually considering listing at eBay!!

Well, I hope things work out and I hope they work out soon. Every other auction site is scrambling to add credit card processing and other specialized services and here AC is eliminating them.
FYI, what we're changing is the nature of the "BidSafe" product.
I can't disclose our plans but you should be aware that currently BidSafe offers three things.
1. A way for sellers to accept credit card payments for a fee.
2. The escrow of those funds until the buyer has accepted, either directly or by default, the item bought at auction.
3. Shipping and general risk insurance up to $3,000 per instance on all the items sold over the course of a year.
It would definitely be a change if each of those services were a distinct service, wouldn't it?
Again, I can't say precisely how the successor program will be structured but I am thinking positively, rather than negatively, about the possibilities
