Well, here we have it, I'm trying to post 25 new auctions, and AU won't let it happen. Of course, service@auctionuniverse was quick to point out that due to the "free" auctions, they can't keep up with the number of auction requests (within a half hour, although its been over 3 hours). I created my auctions to start an hour after I posted them, and yet, they still don't appear, 3 hours later. Currently I can't even get to the site. Who does this sound like?
I won't even go into my Bid$afe experience. I'll wait until February when they fix it, and I'll try again with that fiasco.
What's goin on over there?

I see that even my "non-offending" posts are editted? Why am I not suprised by Heygrape's comments, I 'd better save this page before she edits HER posts.

I'd better keep this page too, I guess. I don't know what I said to offend anybody in my first post but THANK GOD Mark was there to take it out!

You asked what is going on over there?

We're just working hard to serve our customers. Sorry to hear you're having problems but I suspect the other part of the problem was that eBay was also down so everyone was coming over to AU.

At least I'd like to think so:-)

Neomax, some notes about AU that I'd like to contribute. Hopefully, I'll be able to list these without offending anybody.
1) I noticed a problem while listing some of my 10 inch items (snicker). If you put the double quotes in the title to designate inches (as in 10"), everything will work fine UNTIL you try to use that auction as the basis for another auction, and the page stops loading right before the description (I assume it thinks the double quotes is the end of the body). This is a minor annoyance, and I've reported it to service.
2) I wish the title field could be longer, it is currently 40 characters.
3) I wish there were Action Figure categories for Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and specifically MEGO characters, but I'm greedy.
4) I also wish there was a category for video games, classic (Atari and the like), and current (N64, Playstation).
5) When I leave a "rating" for a user, the text box that is used to describe the rating is too small to read very easily, its making me go blind!

Oh, and a nice AU representative just called me asking for my opinions on the Bid$afe program. And I got a couple of free gifts, how nice! She sounded pretty hot on the phone, so I new right away it wasn't anybody from eBay! OOPS, was that offensive?

I'll not touch the hot comment with a ten foot pole, no innuendo intended. But if you had to ask the question ...

The 40 character limit is something I was able to get increased last January, from 33.

The use of " quotations in the title does create problems. I would recommend the use of 10in fig.

You may have a point on the game figures as those two were left out of the rather extensive groupings we have.

The home gaming system categories, however, can be found under "electronics"

They are:

3DO
Amiga
Atari
ColecoVisio
Intellivision
Nintendo 64
Nintendo
Game Boy
Nintendo Other
Nintendo Super
Other Systems
Phillips CD-I
Sega Game Gear
Sega Genesis
Sega Other
Sega Saturn
Sony Other
Sony Playstation
TurboGrafx

I suspect that these categories would be adequate for selling games.

Regarding your complaint on leaving feedback and the text imput box being too small ... well it is small to entice folks to be brief. The reality though is that it will take more than the 80 characters common on our competitor.

Neomax, I didn't know there were home video game categories, that's great. Now maybe AU can add a "Odyssey" category for home video game systems?
Regarding the "text box is too small" post. I meant that, to me, I have to type in a font that is too small to see, rather than the size of the text box. I think the number of characters is adequate, but I have to squint to see my letters because the font is so small using Netscape 4.x.
