Neomax;

I seem to recall reading somewhere that on AU I can limit who sees my auctions by geographic location. But I can't recall where I saw that. I looked at the AU site and couldn't find any reference.

This could be a big help for items that are a problem shipping because of size or wieght.

Is it possible on AU?

Hi Kenlee:

You're right. We do offer geographic searches of the items on our site to help people define, say which heavy item might be worthwhile bidding on, because of its proximity to your home.

Actually, you can choose items in a particular location as narrowly as a single state or group of states or as broadly (default) as all nations to as narrow as a state within a nation.

Actually, our search has some real strengths because you can combine geography with search words and category criteria and other attributes such as bidsafe only, status, ending today or all, ending in past 30.60,90 days, or all open or closed auctions.

Of course the search I'm referring to is the "power search" function found at the following url. (Assuming I did the UBB code right:-)
[urlwww.auctionuniverse.com/au/search.asp?sv=&idx=[/url]

A lot of folks miss this because the notice of "power search," while it is on the front page, is still in the small type above and just to the right of the "quick search" blank field.

Take from me, when you want to search our site, you want to use power search.

Neomax; Thanks for the answer.

If I understand right bidders can limit which auctions they see using the geographic features in your power searh function.

Can sellers limit who sees their auctions based geography?

Lets say I have a band saw I want to sell. Can I limit the auction so that only bidders in Greater Mpls/StPaul area see it? Or is my only option to include that limitation in the description?

Kenlee:

Right now it would be seen everywhere.

When the http://www.stribauctions.com has the requisite volume to stand alone, which it will within a year or two at the most, then the auctions will be geographically tiered.

Right now, they aren't so yes, you would likely stipulate that a bidder from outside the ST. Paul/Minneapolis area probably should not bid on this item as shipping and handling charges are estimated in excess of $100. Of course, pickup is free:-)

Hiya Fellas!!
I have a request. I want to be able to bookmark my auction list. I have so many repeat customers that check daily to see if I have new items up and they don't want a URL! They want a bookmark! Fix it! (Stomping Foot!)
Toodles,
Grapey
P.S. Don't pay no attention to my Stomping Foot. I've been doing it since I was 2. LOL!!
