Hi all: Saw the post on ebay about accepting only credit cards. AU, of course, accepts credit cards and also checks. There is another important difference you should be aware of regarding AU as well. It is almost like we put a firewall between your charges and your credit card. What we do is "fund" an account in a specified amount. Most folks typically open the account with $10.00 although larger amounts are possible. All charges are made against this "authorized amount" and if end of auction fees exceed that amount, you're given notice that you need to replentish your selling account. We do block the seller from placing new auctions until they have a positive balance. In any case, if a seller's auction was vandalized with a 1 million dollar bid and the associated $25,000 in end of auction fees, no charge is made against the users credit card. The seller, in that circumstance, would be advised to contact [email protected], or better yet, [email protected], to have the EOA fees removed. I recommend [email protected] simply because that kind of vandalism will likely have the bidder removed from the service poste haste. In any case, AU's style of charging for fees not only protects us, but protects the seller who uses a credit card or check to fund their account. It is small things like these that are easily overlooked that make us "Auctions you can trust." ------------------ Neomax [email protected]
