Hi all:
All you have to do is guess the total of all the bids for the Chicago Cow Auction now in progress. The auction opened earlier today and bidding has moooved from the opening level of $16,600 to its current $224,195.38.
Will it go higher?
The auction doesn't end until November 9th so the odds are that it will!
You task is to guess how much higher. You win if your guess is the closest to the final dollar tally.
There are a few rules.
1. All entries must be made by posting a message to this forum before Midnight (Pacific Time) Sunday, November 7th. All entries with a time-date stamp after that are disqualified as are all edited entries with a time date stamp after the deadline.
2. You have to use this text in your entry: (go ahead and copy it).
The Cow auction powered by auctions.com will raise $________ by its close on November 9th.
3. Only one entry per person.
4. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the person who posted their winning guess in this forum FIRST!
5. Entrants may edit their entry up until midnight, Sunday November 7 (PST) but -- in the event of a tie -- their entry time is the time of their original post.
That's about it other than if you are the winner, you will have to register on auctions.com to collect your prize. (We need to do that so we can make the award by crediting your credit card with the $100 prize.)
The winner will be officially announced no later than Friday, November 12, 1999.
Check out the auction by going to auctions.com and click on the "check it out" link on our front page.

Another strong day of bidding and the total for all 75 cows is now $556,720.16 WRONG!
Oops. I see know that I made an error in calculation and at the time of this post, the amount was only $318,241.00 (The past from was done incorrectly resulting in extra auction listings.)
