If you want to be in line to win some money during the open house, my advice is to be registered on auctions.com.
You may also opt to register as a seller with a free $5.00 listing credit. (I've seen these credits go through almost immediately but I've also seen them take a day or two to be credited. Registering as a seller and getting this bonus credit does require a valid credit card.)
If you decide to do the latter, you may also opt to sign up as a FREE Bid$afe buyer at the same time. There will be no real advantage to this in terms of winning any of the contests or events. It will give you a cool looking "lock" icon beside your name. These programs, BTW, are part of our effort to "verify" our membership and that is a primary reason that they are available.
(I'll also opine that we're giving away to newly registered members who use the credit card verification $5.00 instead of asking them for a "fin")
At this point I know of one contest, a little twist on a history quiz, that will require that you have a registration name and number. This is because you'll need to be "inside" to find the key information you need to answer the questions posed.
If someone, say Meg Whitman, plain flat refuses to want to register on auctions.com in order to participate, I'll register a special account for them that they will be able to use during this event. The account will be deactivated Monday. If you request this, that request must come before the open house starts at 12 noon eastern.
If you have another question, do pass it along and I'll try to answer it as quickly as possible.
Regarding the agenda.
The open house officially begins at 12 noon Pacific time (3 p.m. Eastern) and I hope to have things wrapped up by around 4 p.m. Pacific time (7 p.m. Eastern)
