Yikes, in the next few days I'm gonna try and see just HOW LONG it is possible to make an Item Description when listing -- I made my last submission very long, but the Auctions.com system did NOT cut off any of my words.

Just be certain that after you edit anything that you *always* REFRESH the page to review your auction, just previous to submission. Ya gotta refresh the page to see the most recent version of your editing.

Ooooooops! I spoke too soon!

Auctionscom is the easiest place I've ever listed auctions.

Now, I do understand why ya can't register for a Bid$afe account using WebTV; afterall, one can't use the secure servers at Amazon for a 1-Click account, either.

People with WebTV regularly log onto computers for such registrations, and then use WebTV for purchases.

However, the Auction.com system cannot accept a Bid$afe BID from WebTv, and that is just NOT good, not at all, and should be brought to the attention of the programmers immediately.

I don't know (maybe you do) of a place that accepts credit card information in a non-secure environment. I think I may have seen it a few sites with non-secure (encrypted) forms for credit card information but I'm under the impression that you don't want that info out there anywhere on the web "unencrypted."

That said, I passed on another post asking about this possibility and was told that we were looking into the possibility.

Would folks go for an unsecure option for credit cards. Every hacker, in the country, it seems to me, would be seeking to get the stream of data from that kind of site.

I have been informed on a number of occasions that WebTV is busy with Amazon.com making a new code for WebTV - so that WebTV can access the secure "1-Click" pages at Amazon.com. (i.e., not a "rumor"!)

This would be an excellent time to see if the same programmers at WebTV could do the same here at Auctions.com, so that WebTV was coded in such manner to access the Bid$afe secure servers.

Sorry that I didn't make this clear in my above post -- as I wasn't requesting an end to the secure server. Simply that Auction.coms contact WebTV and see what can be done -- as something is being done for Amazon.
