I don't mind saying I am furious. I can't imagine how much money this has potentially cost us. I have not now and have never before chosen "Pick up only" to appear in any of our auctions, and it's not only there now but shows by looking back at closed auctions to have been there for quite some time. That button is NOT checked in my preferences anywhere. This is totally unacceptable. What are we supposed to do now??? PLEASE explain.

Hello,
eBay recently made a change that is resulting in some customers getting the eBay message "Pick-up Only" in the eBay section of the listing (below the listing description under "Services available" ). In order to correct this for future listings, you will need to make sure that you specify at least one shipping service for eBay checkout. In order to do this, make sure that at least one shipping carrier is selected under the "Shipping Carriers" section of the main listing form. Also be sure to select "I am specifying shipping costs for eBay checkout" under "eBay Shipping and Payment Details".

Nathan, thanks for the response. You say "eBay recently made a change resulting in"...How recently was that? I've checked back on my listings dating back to last March and it's on all of them. Not exactly recent in my opinion.

Hello,
The change was made within the past few days (I do not know the exact date and time). The reason you can see it on your closed listings is that the actual data that is in the listings has not changed. What is changed is how eBay displays that data when you view the listings. Since eBay now displays that data differently, it displays differently on your closed listings as well.

I do not use ebay checkout. I do not use ebay shipping functions. I have selected Worldwide shipping. And, my new auctions and store listings have the local pickup noted in the ebay portion of the listing.
Is this going to be yet another incompatibility with the bay system? Remember that Canada shipping can not be listed separately. Will we now have to add this to the list?

It would appear to me that ebay could eliminate the words 'Local pickup only' from that sentence. Or, ebay could remedy the problem, as it appears to be ebay's creation.
I have no intention of listing my items any other way.
The last time I looked, this is my business. I have my money at risk, and I pay the taxes. I have no intention to run it the way a group of engineers at ebay or Vendio want me to. Just so it is easier for them.

Well, it's Sunday morning and it appears the good gremlins worked the weekend late shift. The "pick up only" order is now mysteriously gone from my listings. I'm happy but confused. Did ebay burn the midnight oil to change their minds back to what it was (I doubt that) ... can I trust that it will stay there ... or... was that really the reason it happened in the first place???
Thanks to kozersky for speaking up. Maybe you struck the right chord to get something done.

Hello,
It does appear that eBay has decided to remove the "Pick-up Only" working. I can assure you that Vendio did nothing to change it to "Pick-up Only" in the first place, and we did nothing to remove the "Pick-up Only" wording from active eBay listings between yesterday and today. If you would like more information on why eBay made this change (and/or why they changed it back), please contact eBay for assistance.
Regards,
Nathan
