I am fine with the first two critera, but am not with the third one. I am continually using data from as far back as 2001. I pay a lot of money to you every year, and one of the reasons is that I can access that data. As far as archiving goes, I wouldn't know where to start. Can I do a mass archiving? I never know WHAT I'm going to need to look up. I've never archived, don't know how to do it and don't know how to retrieve it. I can understand deleting old files, but give us more than two years worth!!!! I say 5 or 6 years miniumum. I hope you will consider this or tell me how I can archive my whole file.
The closed listings that are over two years old, once removed, should show in your archives (without you specifically archiving them). However, once an item has been archived not all of the information (such as the listing description) is retained. If you would like to archive a closed listing, you may do so by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Control Panel" --> "All Closed" --> then select the listing(s) and click the "Archive" button at the top of your list of listings.
I will pass along your request to our engineering group to see if it is possible to retain the listings that closed over two years ago for specific accounts. However, please note that I do not know if this will be possible, and if it is possible there might be a charge. We will let you know once we hear back from engineering on this.

What is the point of archiving if it doesn't retain the description? That's the main thing I want. Why do people archive - is it just to keep the photo? If so, then isn't there a way to just save the photo by itself? As you can see, I'm not the only person that would prefer a longer length of being able to access our past auctions. Two years just isn't acceptable.
Archived data is for retrieving basic listing and transaction details, it is not a way to save descriptions OR images for future use.
Inventory is where anything should be stored that is meant to be used and retained for future use, where it would be kept until manually deleted.
Any data that you would want to save for future use should be moved into inventory rather than kept in the closed item area where it is subject to being archived.

Ok, so can I move everything over to inventory at once? Or can I at least move full pages at a time and how would I do that? And does that cost more?
Toyspast: You may save an item to inventory by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Control Panel" --> "All Closed" --> select the listing and click "Relist" --> click the "Edit" link to the right --> scroll down to the bottom of the page, select "Save this item in my inventory" and then click "Save" at the bottom of the page. It is not possible to save closed items to inventory in bulk.
Bill: For your items that sold, the basic data will be available in the archive (such as the winning bid, winning bidder eBay ID, winning bidder email address, etc.). Note that not all information (such as the item description and images) will be available. However, since you are using Sales Manager Inventory Edition, as long as you have not deleted the inventory item, that information should still be available there. You may download your archive data by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Sales Archive" --> "Download Archive". Note that only items that have already been archived will be available. It is not possible to download the complete post-sale data (such as the listing description) from Vendio.

So is there a mass way of sending many items at once to inventory? Because if not, then this would not be feasible as I have thousands of items. I cannot possibly do all those steps for each and every one I think I might sell again. And even if I did that, basically then ONLY the description would be something I could copy and paste (I'm assuming) because if I could move it into post sale, then I would lose it in inventory. And you didn't mention if there was an additional cost to have stuff in inventory. I would prefer to remain with the suggestion that you allow at least 5 years to be stored at a time in post-sale. Perhaps you should ASK your customers what their needs are before making this decision. As I stated previously, the fact that I can retrieve descriptions and other info so easily from past auctions is one of the main reasons I pay you hundreds of dollars every year. If that is not an option anymore, then using a lot less costly company might be something I will have to investigate.
No, there is no additional charge for storing items in inventory. It is not possible to save closed items to inventory in bulk. We will let you know as soon as we hear back from our engineers about the possibility of retaining the listing data for listings that closed over two years ago in specific accounts.
