I had around 24,000 items in post sale, now there are 6,500. I never wanted those archived! Can you restore those for me. That is the ONLY reason I use Vendio. I need access to those items ASAP

Hello,

It looks like your items older than 2 years have since been archived, as part of the announced changes to the listing data archive policy that went into effect Feb 15th. Unfortunately there is no way to restore the items that have been archived more than 2 weeks ago back into the closed and post sale areas.

Here is the announcement in question:

_______________________________________
Change to listing data archive policy - please read

Vendio continually reviews ways to make our service faster. After supporting thousands of users and millions of listings for 10 years, we recognize that we currently store some quite old data that provides little or no value to you and hinders to some degree our fastest possible performance. Starting on February 15, we will begin a process of removing old data to improve overall performance. The specifics include:

* We will delete listings that errored on launch two or more years ago.
* We will delete pending listings and archive closed listings if an account login has not occurred in two or more years.
* We will archive closed listings that ended two or more years ago.

On February 15, the initial enforcement will effect data older than February 15, 2007. We will also continue to enforce these changes on an ongoing basis, with pending/errored listings deleted after two years and closed listing data automatically archived after two years.

Note that closed listing archives store only raw sale information. If you have any closed listings that sold over two years ago and have descriptions you may want to save, you may do this by clicking to relist, then edit the listing and save to pending. Newly saved pending listings will not be purged.
______________________________________

You can still restore items back into your account from the archive that were sent there within the past two weeks, via the following page: restore items
(this is found also via the Sales Archive - Restore items page.)

We have added your account to the list of those removed from this rule going forward, so from this date onward your listings will no longer be archived even once they are more than 2 years old.

Regards,
Chris

Chris,

I wish that I had known that there was a way to opt out of the automatic archival or old transactions. Please add me to your list of accounts that you do not archive transactions older than two years. Thank you.

I'd like to be added to the list also, if possible. Only for a few months until I have time to capture those I need. Thanks

hmm, delete my archives than allow me to be omitted from the delete rule in the future. I do not think this is good practice Vendio.

It sucks!! I read the rules as it was only ebay ads that ended with out bids. I know our ads are on backup tape somewhere around there. I lost 25,000+ ads with no record of them.

greatnwauction - did you want to be added to the list to avoid the enforcement of this policy on your account in the future?

You said you put me on a list not to auto delete but I just went through recently deleted items & restored 500 items. I am getting very disapointed with you guys. Not to mention my bill has doubled with you in the last few months.

What is going on around there?

Hello,

Your account should not be automatically archiving listings more than 2 years old. Chances are the items you restored are not 2 years old, rather items that you have relisted back to eBay.

When you submit an item to relist to eBay, the original is archived once the new item is active (and appearing in your active or pending section in Vendio.)
This is to help prevent duplicate listings being submitted in error. This is also when when you restore those items back to the closed section and try to relist them again, the system will stop you and say that it has already been relisted (the error your posting about in your other thread.)

Chris

Well can you turn that off? I have been trying for 20 minutes to reist item 290289142228. I can not get it or one of its clones to list. Now I have to write a new ad & take new pictures. The old ads that were archived were from April & May of '07 so you better look into that as well.

Later we can talk about when I hit save or launch now at the bottom of a listing page, it takes a long time to mover to the next page.

Hello,

Isn't item number 220412552270 the relisted version of the one your trying to relist now?

You have since changed the title, but this is the same item correct?

If you wanted to list more than the ones that are running right now and use this same item, pull up this item in your active section by searching for item 220412552270 - then click the 'active' link beside it. That will place a duplicate into the pending section to allow you to list off of as needed.

Ideally if you will have a number of these to list in an inventory strategy, try saving a copy to inventory while editing so you can re-list more of them from inventory as needed rather than relisting off of the closed field.

Next time you find old listings in the archives from 2 years ago please let us know so we can check into it further.

As for the speed of the page returning to the control panel - after hitting 'save' on one of your pending items (which will work quicker than waiting for a launch confirmation on the launch now action) - it takes my FireFox3 browser, over a commercial home cable connection, about 4.5 seconds to take me back to the pending section in the control panel. - for comparison.

Chris

In the good o;e days of just a few months ago I could relist any old auction. It did not matter if it had already been listed. This just makes for more work that before. Things should be getting quicker not slower.

Hello,

Unfortunately the process for blocking the relist of an already relisted item (that has been archived, and then restored back to the closed section) has always been blocked. This was not part of the recent changes to the archive policy.

Were you able to list your item by copying the most recent listing as shown above?

Regards,
Chris
