I'm working with a new Kodak camera and the Easy Share software that came with it. A much needed gift but since I'm not one bit tech savvy here, it's been a struggle trying to get the hang of it all. I was comfortable with my old Kodak camera and software, but it's terribly outdated.
Problem: my old Vendio photos show their size in my manage images section as approx. anywhere from 16k to 45k, give or take. The new pics are way more k than that. I've saved and uploaded pics of the same subject using 2 different selections from the software's "save as" options...one as "best for web" and the other as "3/4 original size". Web best size shows up in Vendio as 112k and the 3/4 shows up as 110k. I created a test listing using both those photos next to each other and don't see any difference in the way they appear.
It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. As time goes by, average image sizes have been going up. Anything below about 500K is normal for an image on a normal eBay listing. So even though your image sizes have gone up almost 100K, they are still well within the normal limit. Since you have switched from an old camera to a new camera, the image file size is likely to increase (and theoretically the image quality as well).
