I started the tedious task of deleting unused images from my image hosting account. I have images dating back more than 10 years! I have mostly retired from my eBay business and know that most of my postcards have not been listed on eBay (or anywhere) for at least a year and yet, when I look at folders that are sorted by years, I see that some images have been viewed as recently as yesterday. How can this be? The eBay listing is long gone. Who is viewing my images and how are they seeing them?

There unfortunately isn't a way for us to know who was viewing the image or where the image was being viewed. If you had clicked on the image within your account then it would show a last viewed date of that time.
Another possibility is that someone else is using your images online (it is possible for someone to take a link to your image from an eBay listing and then post that link elsewhere). If that is the case, then deleting the image would stop it from appearing online, wherever it is linked to.
