I have taken a number of pics. and they are stored to the smart media card and uploaded to auctions as file numbers.. They are in active auctions.. Now I would like to delete those images from my camera and card and take new pictures for new auctions.. it seems as though when I try to upload a file number that is a repeat of one that I have already uploaded .I am given the message that The file has already been uploaded.. Is there a way around this?? The files are created when I take the pictures and are done in sequence ..I dont believe that I can change the number of those files.. Thanks in Advance.. Yes, AW is a little finicky about having more than one image with the same file name.
To answer the last part of your question - of course you can rename your files.
Whether you keep the pictures on the smart card or move them to your hard drive and then upload them - which I recommend- the operating system (Windows or Mac) will allow you to treat them like any other file. And so, you can call them anything you want.
Somehow, my Nikon is "smart enough" to keep on numbering (in sequence) even after the images are deleted, so I haven't run into that problem. But I always take them from the card to the hard drive - just so that I can keep them organized.
