I have a question concerning relisting on Ebay and how to get my images to show up properly using the "Gallery" features on Ebay. The problem is that a week ago I launched an auction thru AW onto Ebay using just one picture. After the auction ended, I decided to relist the item, only this time wanting to spend the 25 cents and have a preview of my item pictured in the listings on Ebay.
Ebay's relisting feature would not allow me to continue the relisting process because it claimed that my picture was in "gif" format rather than "JPG" as it requires. How can this be? I have all my images on AW stored in JPG format, and my picture shows up just fine in my Ebay auction ad, but it won't let me use a preview picture because my format is wrong? Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this. Thanks!----Sam

Hi Kshoops,
That is correct, you are not allowed to use .gif files for your gallery image. Are you sure the image is not a .gif image? Which auction does this pertain to?
Hi, thanks for the quick response---this has been happening to me in nearly all the auctions I have encountered so far. For instance, Ebay item #1631932534. I had it listed and would like to relist it, but it won't allow me to using a Gallery image. However, I went back and found the image that is saved on my image file on AW, and it says it is saved as a JPG. I think the problem is that when I relist, the Ebay form refers to the following URL: http://www.auctionwatch.com/images/cleardot.gif. I am not sure how that URL would be a link to my image, because that is not what my image file is saved under.
HOWEVER: Auctions that I launched from AW where I chose the option to use a Gallery Image immediately on first launch rather than just on relisting DO allow me to use a Gallery Image on relisting, such as Ebay #1633887404. But, I don't know what the difference is between that auction and the above auction where I am having the problem, because the URL for this auction ALSO has a "gif" URL. Sorry this is confusing, let me know if I need to clarify in any way---Sam

Hi Kshoops,
Why aren't you relisting through AW? I don't believe you can add a Gallery picture to a relist when doing it directly at eBay. If you go through us the same relisting credit applies and you won't be charged for image hosting. If you relist at eBay you will be charged for the images you used in the auction.
I would recommend relisting through us using the create listing form to add the gallery picture.
