OK, it's late (for me), but I'm having trouble figuring out if I can use some of the snazzy new templates in my plain old eBay auctions.
I don't have a storefront (sales are down on eBay - having trouble convincing myself a storefront would improve the cashflow here).
I like the new templates (especially the stars and stripes one right now), but can't figure out if I can use it for my regular auctions.
Am getting a little bored with the templates I have been using and would like to jazz up my auctions a little, if only to relieve the boredom of looking at the auctions with only one or two bids.
Bottom line: can I use the different templates with my auctions or am I stuck with the current crop?
If I can't use the new templates, any plans to roll out some new ones for us small time sellers who don't have storefronts?
Also, any holiday templates coming out soon? Really could have used some for Halloween, but too late for that now. Being an optimist, I'm going to start Christmas listings soon, and would love to see some holiday templates like you had last year.
Plan to keep on plugging along and listing hoping things will pick up, but would really like to jazz up those auctions with some different templates.
Please tell me there is a way to use that Stars and Stripes template for my regular auctions!

Hi Kkbclear,
Yes, you can use the customizable templates. When you are creating your auctions, in the template area of the create listing page, click on the "Customize Template" button. From there you can choose your image layout and the template theme, name your theme, and click on Save. Then just make sure that you have the template selected and hit Continue at the bottom of your screen and the template you just created will be the one selected for your listing.

Okay, now here is my question..I don't see anywhere on the template page to customize the templates. Actually, where is the template area, all I have is a drop down list to choose the template I want to use.
Where is the stars and stripes template? I only have the solid colored templates to choose from..
AND you didn't answer this from the last post:
When are holiday templates going to be available. Hope there will be more color schemes to choose from this year.

kkbclear, your auctions have one or two bids? All mine that ended last night had NO bids and of the 26 that are still running only 1 has a minimum bid and the other 25 have NO bids at all. I'd say you are doing a lot better than I am. This summer was very slow and then began to pick up just before the 9/11 attacks. Then things slowed down again after the attacks. Then just when sales were doing better, all of a sudden bidding pretty well stopped on my auctions. I haven't the foggiest idea why. I have an AW storefront and in over 5 months of having it, I only sold 2 items from it. So I don't think a storefront is the answer. I couldn't tell you if templates would help. I use about 2 or 3 different ones in my auctions but haven't noticed if any particular one does better than another.

Hi Bwheatley,
You can get to the customize templates page from two areas -- eBay Site Specifics and Create Listing. When you are choosing the template you would like for your auction in the Create Listing page, there is a grey "Customize Templates" button underneath the template selection. If you click on that you'll be taken to a page where you can select an image layout and a theme. The image layout is on your left, the themes are on your right. There are Holiday templates located there as well.
If you have any other questions about customizing templates, let me know.
