I usually get at least 50% to reply to my AW WBN. Since checkout it is down to 10%. A few paid instantly through Paypal but the other ones I have no idea. Since Ebay is giving them our NAZ I wonder if they will just mail payment directly without making
contact. I HATE CHECKOUT!!!!

I'm glad you brought that up, I never thought of that. Now I just remembered that when we first signed up on ebay we did it in my husbands name back in 1998. Since then, I have taken over all aspects of selling on ebay (my husband said he wouldn't go back to dealing with bidders via email if I paid him a million dollars because they were so difficult to deal with). So if ebay is giving out our info and the bidders don't look at the AW WBN, they will make out the payment to my hubby but the bank is only open from 9-3 M-F and he leaves for work before they open and the bank is closed long before he gets off work. This really stinks. He doesn't want to have to race around trying to deposit stuff into the ATM before/after work!!! And I haven't heard from some of my bidders either via the AW WBN or directly via email and it makes me wonder what is really going on. DARN!

I just remembered that although we each have different bank accts, his name is also on mine and mine on his just in case. But for postal money orders we have a worse problem. The post office is only open from 8am until about 5pm and some PO's don't open until 8:30 or 9am. They always require that the person sign the back of the MO there at the PO and show ID. If someone sends a PO MO in my hubby's name, it won't get cashed until Saturday but we'd have to hustle to the PO on a Saturday because they are only open for a while in the morning but because most people can't make it to the PO during the week because they also work, it means everyone in town is at the PO on a Saturday morning and ya hafta wait in line for 45+ minutes.

My response is down too. Some pay right away, which is great and I just copy and paste the info in.

With the others, I keep sending them WBN's and if that doesn't work - I email them directly requesting their info. I need to have more contact then just them filling in checkout.

In fact I have had people fill in the checkout and then email me to ask where to send payment. LOL

Checkout will eventually work itself out. It is new, and will take people a while to get used to it. I would have preferred to not have checkout, but what can we do. I have noticed a significant increase in billpoint payments with checkout. But those are by newbie ebayers, and once they figure out what is going on, I expect that will also decrease.

Antelope - have your husband endorse your checks and money orders over to you and you shouldn't have any problem depositing them.

Well, bidders rarely read the auction descriptions and payment stuff in the auction and don't pay attention to much of the WBN if they ever bother filling it out at all. Some don't do the WBN or email me and either I cannot read their return address from the envelope that they sent their payment in or it doesn't have a return address or a note inside (I guess nowadays that makes it a suspicious piece of mail we are supposed to throw away, LOL. My grandmother always uses an entire roll of tape on all envelopes/packages she sends to me so I don't understand why lots of tape makes something suspicious, haa, haa). I just rec'd a paypal from someone and it said, "I didn't realize you accepted Paypal-my son was so excited to win this stone, we didn't read the full details until now!!! Thank you! Karen" I guess it is just another day at the office!
