Hi guys, I have been using the image hosting feature for a few years now through a webtv via a video camera.. I find it very simple and easy to use. Now I have bought a used laptop as we will be traveling extensively in Europe and can't use webtv there. I would like to continue listing auctions with images while traveling. Does Auctionwatch have any kind of tutorial I could browse to help me learn how to put images on with the laptop and a new digital video camera or perhaps a regular digital camera? The camera I purchase will depend upon which is easier to use. The laptop has windows 98. I pulled up image hosting with the laptop and saw three rectangular boxes with the word browse next to them. Whereas with the webtv a large square shows and I just add my image to that and "Voila" it appears on Auctionwatch. Are the three browse boxes there because I haven't put any image software in the laptop as yet? Please bear in mind that although I'm pretty familiar with a webtv's workings I'm a complete novice when it comes to a regular computer. So please keep it simple. Any help you can give would be greatly appeciated. Thanks, steve
Unfortunately, we do not have any text that can assist you with getting your images from a digital video camera/digital camera to your hard drive. The equipment that you purchase should provide instructions on how to accomplish this. In order to upload your images to our server once you get them on your hard drive, follow the steps outlined below:
- Log on and click the Auction Manager tab.
- Click the Image Hosting link under the tabs.
- You will see a series of Browse buttons, with empty fields next to them.
- Click one of the Browse buttons, and locate your image file within your file directory.
- Double-click on the image file name. The file path will now appear in the field next to the Browse button. You may do this as many times as you like, depending on how many upload fields you have displayed.
- Click the Upload button.
If your upload is successful, you will receive a display of all of your uploaded images, and you will now see a thumbnail of the image when you scroll down the page.
