In attempting to edit WBN responses today, the buyer's name disappears from the form. Everything from the address on down is still there, just the name disappears. If I don't save changes and recheck WBN response on the fulfillment list, the name is still there, but it disappears when I try to edit. I've tried both Netscape and IE, and it happens with both. Any ideas?
As an addendum: I went ahead and completed the edit process on a response I didn't need anymore, but when I tried to save changes, I got the message that I needed to complete the shipping address information. This indicates to me the name truly is disappearing, not just failing to show up on my screen.

Hi Christopher:
I am unchecking the WBN Response box on the fulfillment page. Normally what I do is go to fulfillment page, view response, then, if it needs editing, go back, uncheck the box and click edit.
Is this what you mean when you say you're unchecking No. 2 from post sale? Can you uncheck a box from the post sale list?
Incidently, I also rebooted to try again, but got same problem. Only the name (first, middle and last) disappears, and, as I said, if I try to save the edit, I get the message that the shipping address is incomplete.
Addendum: First noticed this on item 1293100148 and that's the one I've been playing around with to try to figure it out, but it's occured on every one I tried to edit.

Hi Abqsales,
What you are doing is correct, if you need to edit the response. I am unable to replicate this problem as well. If this just recently started happening, try editing the information making sure all that is open is your browser.

Hi Sonya:
I guess what you're suggesting is that this is a local problem, which I will not discount since no one else seems to be reporting it.
It is indeed recent, starting just yesterday, but I hadn't edited any responses for a few days prior.
I'm wondering if it might be related to the switch to the three-box name section from the previous single line (don't know exactly when that switch took place). Is it possible a different java code is used in that section from the others? It just seems odd that only the name disappears, which suggests to me that even if it is a local problem, it is one triggered by a change on AW's end. Perhaps you engineers can give me some idea what locally might be interfering or failing to recognize the code. As I noted, it occurs in both Netscape and IE and via different ISPs, which would indicate something outside the browser.
Any help appreciated. I'll try your suggestion, but I'm not hopeful since nothing has changed on my computer that I know of since before this cropped up, and this is the only glitch I see on any programs or sites I use.
Thanks

Hi Brian, Sonya and Christopher:
Just went in and tried it, and it works like a charm. I'm not crazy after all, no matter what those voices in my head say.
Surprised no one else brought this one up. Am I the only one who edits responses?
Anyway, thank you all for the effort and the positive outcome. I've found AW to be very reliable in the months since I joined, and had quick, positive response to the few troubles I've had. After my experience with another service I won't name, that's real freedom.

I once had all info in the WBN disappear when I tried to edit and then later it came back. Not sure what had happened. Right now I have another WBN problem. I had just noticed that someone else had filled out their WBN and so I clicked on it to make sure the address was okay and also to see if there was a note for me from the bidder. For some reason their last name was gone and their email address was there instead! I know I shouldn't put peoples names and emails here so I won't. So instead of the name for the address label being:
FIRST LAST
It was:
FIRST EMAIL
Why? I know I need to edit it and erase the email and put in his last name, but how can this be prevented in the future? I'm sure he didn't fill it out like that, nobody can be that stupid. Or can they?

Yoo hoo! Is anyone there on a Sunday? It is noon here on the east coast and I was wondering if someone could answer the question I had on the previous post to this thread. Thanks.
Oh, also wondering about the Phone # on the WBN. Can this be optional so I can tell the system to leave it out of my WBN's as I am not a business, just a recovering packrat and need to empty my house. I cannot accept credit cards because I am not a business and actually I cannot accept credit cards through PayPal anymore either, only PayPals that are off the persons PayPal balance and so forth as I refuse to pay for the service cuz I can't afford any more fees than I'm already paying. This phone # thing is making my high bidders uncomfortable. If there were a problem and I needed to call them ebay can give the info but because my stuff usually sells for only .69 to 3.00 I refuse to place expensive long distance calls to try and collect from nonpaying bidders and probably I'd only get an answer machine anyway. I just can't throw more money away to get a couple dollars. Thanks.

Hi Antelope67,
The phone number field is not a required field. Buyers have the option of including their phone number if they want to.
I have never seen an email address in place of the First and Last name so evidently this was done by the buyer. If you see this again let us know and we will look into it.

When jalleniii said that the winner's i.d. is in the Last Name column of the WBN it got me thinking. That email address that was in one of my WBN in the last name area was also his bidder ID. Some people still have their ID as their email. And also, since when did AW split up the first and last names into separate entries and add the middle initial?

I already verified his last name and changed it on the WBN so that I could print the shipping label and mail the package. Not sure what there is to see now but the auction number was 1664016212
