Hi,
I am trying to Upload some JPG's to my account, and I am being told that they are bad. My computer can see them fine, I don't know what's going on. It tells me to repair them, but it does not tell me how. This is the first time I've had this problem, but I have just had to re-install the scanner software, so I don't know for sure that everything is set up right (but then again, if my computer can see them as JPGS and show me the image, why can't yours)?

Hello,

I was unable to open this file (you sent me) in a browser or simply image viewer. You may want to try reloading your scanner software again. To test, try simply using IE to open your image files, if you can then you should be able to upload as well.

I am able to open the picture I sent to you. My computer is not having a problem opening any of the scan using Microsoft Explorer. I did not change anything. What should I do next?

I would unistall my scanner software and reinstall again. Might be a bit of a pain but it may help solve your problem.

no, no good. I will contact the scanner company, any other suggestions?

Hi there,

The problem might be that you are attempting to upload images that are not truly jpegs - Windows will allow you to rename your images and change the file extension, but this does not mean that your images are actually saved in jpeg format.

Note that we have stopped accepting uploads of gif images, due to trademark issues. Please check and make sure that you are saving your images as jpegs, not simply renaming them. The file formats that our system will accept are jpeg, and bmp.

Also note that some image editors use a proprietary jpeg format (such as Photoshop.) This might be a problem as well.

after talking with my scanner company, it seems it is a scanner issue. For some reason (even they don't know why), when I save an image as a JPG, and try to convert the format, it goes through the action, but the image is not converted. It stays in their propritary format. I can see it because I have a viewer that allows me to see it. No one else can because they do not have the viewer. They are sending me new software. Thanks for your help.
