I just received the 5th email from a buyer saying they cannot open my pictures and have not been able to for the past few days.
That would explain why my normal sell-through which is 95% will probably only be 80% this week. It's horrible.
I can open them fine but those on a cable or dial up modem can't.
This is absolutely intolerable. I have lost money hand over fist because of the maintenance (the day after 250 auctions were posted and hence in the 'new today' section where they missed all the first looks') and now this.
I am seriously considering, along with a lot of other OTWA and other board members elsewhere, going elsewhere. I know AW can do a good job but it just doesn't seem to care. I am a very heavy user and seller and cannot understand the lack of customer care, customer response and timely rectification for problems.
When doing maintenance, why not do it at the same time eBay does - or is that too logical???
Here is a cut and paste of an email, to prove I am not making this up:

Subject: Question for seller -- Item #1512027169
Mimi, Your "auctionwatch" photos are nearly impossible to open for the past couple of days. We've tried evrything we know, refresh, reconnect etc. Are others having trouble as well, is it e-bay? We open non-auctionwatch photos fine. Hope you're doing well! Dana

Hi touchofeurope,
Did you happen to notice if all 5 buyers were from the same ISP? Some ISP's may not have updated their DNS and Proxy servers since our move. You may want to ask your customers if they can access AW at all.

curious if you found out the problem, I too am feed up with all the problems and wonder if my customers can see pics, it takes time to ask a seller so maybe some don't tell us.. my time is money too get it together AW

I checked out your auction, and I didn't even have time to look at the clock (to time the opening)..they popped right open for me. I'm using Road Runner. Nice tablecloth.

Hi,
It seems to be OK now. They were from different ISPs, one was AOL, one was Earthlink, one ATTBI and 2 others.
I have no idea what happened but after I posted that message I got several other emails with the same complaint.
Although it's working now, it doesn't give me much confidence. We lost a lot of business last Friday when our auctions were brand new. they are ending today and I am anticipating a 20 to 25% drop which is horrible.
I really hope AW can get its' act together. I seem to be reading and hearing a lot of complaints lately on various boards. It's a shame because I do feel it's a good service, but the follow up, customer service and the issues with maintenance are just not acceptable.
By the way, I am still having huge problems uploading pictures. I refuse to use the Small Business version because it does not work for the type of items I sell and it caused a huge mess when I did with some auctions launching twice.
AMPro is the only choice for me, but if I can't have all the pictures I want uploaded, I have a problem. So I am really stuck.
The only good thing is that this is forcing me to go ahead with my own web site and hosting ahead of schedule - but I really would prefer to stay with AW. Very sad.

Yup, I have tried it all. If you go back and look at all the messages I hve posted about this you'll see. The problem apparently is that I get 'timed out' by AW because of the number of pics I have. But I WANT to have that number of pictures so I am not going to compromise here.
I need to be able to have about 12,000 pics up at any given time. Yet if I try an upload and there are more than about 9,500 there at the time, it times me out. Tells me I have an 'invalid response from server and to go to AW and check my pictures'.
We've tried every possible combination under the sun. And I am on a DSL or T-1 line with a very fast computer. Sooo, right now I can't count on AW which is sad.
