I'm wondering how to do this. In the Global Preference settings it lists insurance and says:

I offer insurance for $ for the first $100 and $ each additional $100

However, the USPS states they charge:

$0.01 to $50.00 $1.10
50.01 to 100.00 2.00
100.01 to 200.00 3.00
200.01 to 300.00 4.00
300.01 to 400.00 5.00
400.01 to 500.00 6.00
500.01 to 600.00 7.00
600.01 to 700.00 8.00
700.01 to 800.00 9.00
800.01 to 900.00 10.00
900.01 to 1,000.00 11.00
1,000.01 to 5,000.00 $11.00 plus $1.00

So the first increment is $0.01 to $50.00 and the second is 50.01 to 100.00. So how do I do it for increments only in $100 as you have on the form? If I say $1.10 for the first $100 and the high bid is $55-100 then I'm losing $ and if I say I charge $2 for the first $100 and the high bid is less than $50, I'll get complaints from my bidders that I'm over charging them.

Hi Antelope67,

It will be up to you what you decide to use as your insurance settings. If you want to use increments that are different than what USPS states, you could try picking one that is an average of all the insurance prices that fall within that range. You can also use this to promote your winners to purchase more of your items and combine it and say something like, insurance is set at $x.xx up to $100 no matter how many items you buy.

I think AW continues to miss the point on this issue. Antelope doesn't want to overcharge customers for insurance, and the AW answer doesn't address that.
For AW's benefit, the average sale on eBay is just under $25, and somewhere around 90 percent of shipping is done via USPS. The math is obvious and it should be abundantly clear that the insurance option needs to accommodate the first level of USPS insurance, which is $50, rather than be set to accommodate the small minority of other carriers.

We continue to investigate enhancements to the insurance options, including changes as you've mentioned above; we understand it is important to some sellers to be able to more closely match the USPS rates & calculations. Your feedback definitely helps us to prioritize development tasks, and this is an item we are definitely giving attention to.
