The 8 auctions that I scheduled to launch early today for this evening have launched and guess what... 1/2 hour later the photos are all over the place. Photos are worse than ever, two or three in the correct auction along with a few from different auctions, this is not where I put them. I am now at a stand still on listing until you fix this problem. It really doesn't make much sense for me to use a different picture service as I have just paid you $200.00 for the year plus the extra for each auction... I am losing serious money both in fees to you and ebay and also for the lost auctions. I just ended all 8 auctions early as there is no way for me to unscramble the photos!! Please help me with this.

Susan,
I don't want to sound like an alarmist, but if this problem is not widespread amongst AW users, there is a possibility that someone may have obtained your password and they are tampering with your auctions. I would change my password on Ebay right away and update the info in AW's records. After you do that launch a couple and see if the problem is still there. If you are on a cable modem, launch the new auctions from a dial up modem. There have been a couple of threads on the Ebay Outlook forum about hacked seller accounts. It's becoming a rather significant problem that Ebay is not anxious to discuss in public.

Thank you Sparkz... I didn't consider a hacker. I am so frustrated as I noticed the problem was not widespread.

Hi Cragonlsnet,

Are you editing anything in the auction after it launches to eBay?

Hi Sonya,

I am doing nothing to the auctions before or after launch. I never edit. I am very careful when listing so that this option is not needed.

Susan,
Look at the two auctions you provided numbers for in the other thread. BOTH auctions have been edited between the time they were launched and the time you ended them. They indicate that the description and shipping were changed. The html in the descriptions is what calls the pictures into your auction. If you didn't edit the descriptions, who did???

Wow, Susan~! ... Sparkz is right; looks like all of the auctions you ended early yesterday and today ALL indicate that the auctions were edited! ... what an unpleasant surprise for you [to say the least] ...

Hello cragonlsnet,

That was why when you first posted the issue, my first response was asking you about the revisions made.

Christopher,
I understand your comment... but you need to understand me... I did not make any revisions to the auctions... I am the only person with access to this computer or any of my accounts or passwords. How could this be happening??

Hello,

That is a VERY good question. I would email [email protected] to report the issue. Perhaps they can trace what IP address the changes were submitted from, to try and get a better idea of who or what is causing those auctions to show revisions being made.

I talked to a person today from eBay...they say that when the photos were scrambled after the auction was launched that it automatically triggers that there have been revisions and that it does not mean these were the exact revisions stated, their reading automatically says it is revised because the photos were changed... their theory is that it is an auction watch problem
when the photos are called up on the auction, the signal is sent to auction watch and the incorrect file names are somehow coming back possibly because of a large amount of data in my data base file. Could this be??

Hi Susan,

We will continue to work with you on this issue, rest assured - however this explanation from eBay doesn't really make any sense as far as how your items got marked as being revised.

For example, you can go as far as deleting the image from your AuctionWatch account and uploading another with the same filename - essentially changing the image entirely and eBay will not indicate any change has been made. Unless you log into your eBay account and make a change, or add data (which only adds it to the bottom of the page, below your original) via our system will it show changes have been made.

Thank you for trying Christopher...I do appreciate your time. I am not an expert on any of this and am only getting more mixed up as time goes by. I certainly don't claim to understand any of this. I am trying to work through this by process of elimination...I don't give up easily!! Please don't forget about me, maybe an answer is just around the corner.

I have been trying to list 2 or 3 auctions through your service over the last few days to see if this makes a difference in my problem. 3 on saturday and 2 last night. So far,so good, they are fine. In thinking back my scrambled mess seems to be happening when I schedule the auctions to launch later in the day. The ones that are fine I launched now instead of scheduled for later...do you think this has anything to do with this situation??

Hi Susan,

I am not sure if scheduling them later makes a difference. However if the images in these auctions do end up scrambled again, please let us know and leave them in your account so that we can take a look at them.
