Hi! 80% of my closed auctions have vanished! Where are they and what happened? I need them back as I used them to relist.
Thank you,
jpcat2 (Karen)

Hello jpcat2,

As previously announced, we have begun auto-archiving closed auctions. This means that any auctions that closed over 12 weeks ago have probably been archived. We will be providing a tool that will allow for the retrieval of closed data shortly, however - please refer to this thread for more information:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=15&thread=68591

If you want to disable auto-archive, you may do this under My Account -> Global Preferences. Note that disabling auto-archive is free for now, but we will eventually implement a storage fee at some point.

Regards,

Diana

Hi, Diana,
So, what your saying is that my Closed Auctions over 12 weeks are stored
somewhere and I can get them back?
I disabled auto archive. Then, I went to "Archive" and typed in the dates. I
got a screen with all the auctions, but no way to retrieve them. How do I
restore/get back/retrieve those closed auctions so that I may use the copy
they contain?
Thanks
Karen

Hi Karen,

The archive retrieval tool is not yet available, but it is in the works and will be implemented shortly. Raw data from archived items is available only in CSV file format, and the data is sales data only - you will not be able to retrieve descriptions, etc. until the retrieval tool is implemented.

Hi, Diana!
Thanks so much for this information. At least I can rest easy knowing my closed auctions weren't wiped out and that I can get them back some point in time. I'm bad about reading announcements... Busy/too much email/blahblahblah. I hope I don't overlook "The Tool" announcement!!
Thanks again,
Karen

Hi - I wanted to make sure that you are aware of the Inventory feature in Sales Manager. If you find that you are relaunching auctions from your closed listings a lot, you might want to save your listings to Inventory as you list them. This way, they will be available for relaunch indefinitely, and you will not have to worry about the info being archived.

Please let us know if you have any questions about Inventory. You will find this feature on the lefthand navigation bar in Sales Manager.

Regards,

Diana

Hi, Diana!
Yes, I use Inventory to relaunch. But, there are some items from the closed auction that I'm just now relisting (Last Summer clothes that didn't sell, for example...). Or if I get in an item that was similar/identical to one I had months previous. Plus, when I change the copy in Inventory to relaunch, the original copy is gone for good, whereas in closed, the original item description copy stays the same for future reference. It's a mess and I'm getting a headache... I'm just relieved to know that I haven't lost for good those closed auctions. Tell the Tool implementors to HURRY!
