AW - you still owe me about $50.00 or more in referral fees that you took from my paypal account over the last few years. Or at least that's where paypal said the fees went to. I just stopped referring new users to paypal as long as I wasn't getting the referral fees anyway. So perhaps if you get that straightened out I just might send you some referrals. But not until then. I really like your site. it has been a tremendous help to me in listing my ebay auctions. Your customer service people are on the ball and always helpful. But this one incident about referral fees just sticks in my craw. I'd be interested in hearing from other sellers whether you ever rec'd any money from those fees. I remember there were many posts re that problem a year or so ago.

Hi cyberageart,

Thanks for your interest in the Referral Program.

I wanted to address your concern over previous PayPal referrals. We did work with PayPal just about a year ago to resolve several incorrectly credited referrals. I just reviwed the list, and unfortunately I do not see any that should have been credited to you. We did pay to our supported sellers all referrals that were incorrectly attributed to AuctionWatch and doubled the referral amount to apologize for the inconvenience. I'm sorry that this issue resolution wasn't communicated to you effectively at the time. We hope you can recommend AuctionWatch with confidence and gain additional referral dollars in the process.

Take care, and I wish you great fortune with your online selling.

meffleAW so what you are saying is that everyone got not only the monies due them but double the money. And I get nothing. There were several emails from me to AW and several posts in threads from me relating to this problem at the time. Perhaps if you can dig up the original threads you can find out how much you owe me. At the time it was 8-10 referrals for about $40.00 to $50.00. I even spoke to paypal and they should have a record of my request. If you still can't find anything I feel you should still send me the $50.00 anyway as you know I can't be pulling this up out of thin air. I would have had to been involved to know the facts in this matter. At least issue a credit against future listings and fees until the money is paid. You don't even have to give me double - just give me what is due me. I even sent you a list at the time of the new users that I referred. Do the right thing! Steve

cyberageart,

We used a list generated by PayPal that identified the referrals that were owed to our supported sellers. We then doubled that amount. The list we received from PayPal did not have any referrals owed to the e-mail address you currently have on file with us. Please let me know if this address has changed, and I'll look up a previous e-mail address as well. I understand your frustration with the referrals. Did PayPal confirm that the 8-10 referrals were both new and qualified? Their qualification hurdles changed over time, which naturally made it much harder for a referral to qualify for the bonus. In any event, I'll review your account, and please send any additional information you may have to my e-mail address.

Best,
Mike.

So none of the banners are compliable with eBay rules?... or did I just misinterpret/ overlook something.

Hello,

You are correct, they are for Plain Text emails and any non-eBay auctions only.

meffle AW Hi, still have the same address since I have been on the internet. Paypal did in fact confirm to me that those were viable referrals, but that was over the phone. I have no proof in writing. Steve

Well it looks just like last time. It's deja vu all over again (thank you Yogi Berra). After a few weak responses from AW you just forget about me and ignore my posts and hope that the problem will go away. It has been a couple of days since my last post without a response from you. Well the onus is on you to do the right thing. I feel I have been with you long enough and have been a strong enough user of your site with lots of auctions (well over 1000) that I deserve better treatment. So maybe you should sit down with Chris Barker and tell him about this. By the way what does the post from scrapbook and the response from Chris have to do with this thread? Steve

Hi cyberageart,

I apologize for the delay. I am trying to figure out a fair way to handle this unusual case. I have a list that PayPal sent me, which we used to calculate lost referrals. Your e-mail address is not on it. On the other hand, you had a conversation with PayPal that indicated you have 8-10 "lost" referrals. I look at the list again, and the highest amount of referrals anyone has reported is 5 because of the hurdles required to qualify a referred PayPal user and the limited amount of time we had issues with incorrect referrals. I have no way to calculate an appropriate amount. I need to escalate this a bit to find a solution. I'll e-mail it by the end of the day. I appreciate you patience in the interim. Take care.

Best,
Mike.
