I've been having REPEATED problems with AW's pop-up ads in the past 2 days. Just now, I open an IE browser window and log into AW. Suddenly, my bottom bar shows TWO more windows open. When I "scan" over those buttons with my cursor, they show as http://...popup... . But, they are "frozen". They won't disappear, and I can't click them open to SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
This obnoxious pop-ad situation is driving me NUTS. I NEVER read them, nor click on them, and yet AW, ebay, and other public sites continue to use them for paid advertising.
HELP!

We have not had pop ups on our site for a very long time now. I recommend that you clear your cache and your cookies and then try to access the site again. Let us know if the problem persists.

Thanks, Sonya and Diana,
Diana's msg read ...
"Hi - I just wanted to add that some websites are using pop-up ads that don't appear until some time after you leave the site, so it's sometimes difficult to identify which website is serving the pop-ups.
Diana"
Verrrrrrrrrry tricky! I had emptied cache, but hadn't emptied temp cookies, so just now did that. It was so bizarre to not have any IE browser windows open, then when I open one and log into AW, up pops two frozen pop-up ads on my bottom bar! So, you think they were from PREVIOUS hits on websites! YUCK!
I do know there is pop-up box "killer" software, but unfortunately it kills legitimate pop-up dialog boxes or windows as well.
Thanks again ...

kathleenrock,
Try AnalogX POW! to kill those pop-up adds. It allows *you* to decide which pop-ups you want to see and will not indescriminately close windows. www.analogx.com
I've tried many pop-up killers and this is the most user friendly. I use it all the time.

Hi kathleenrock,
The reason I deleted my post is that I re-read your post and from what you are saying it seems that the problem is not *exactly* a pop-up. You are not able to open the windows that correspond with the "pop-up" buttons that appear on your toolbar? I am not sure what would cause this, but it could be a browser error. Does it only happen when you log in here?
