I have set up an excel spreadsheet for each of my inventory items so I can import them into SMPro. I have included an image column. In tha column I listed just the pictures name (which they are already in SMPro and Online in image hosting for me). During the importing of the excel file into SMPRo I get an error that image is invaild name. So I then went to my online AW store and found the URL for the image location in your system and I entered that infront of my picture name. (I can surf those links and get the pictures so they are listed correctly). But during the importagain I got the error message that they had an invaild location. SO my question is you help file says that you can do this in excel and import into the SMPro, but what am I doing wrong?

Hi Eaglewolf,

What is the URL that you are typing in? You might not be typing in the right URL. If you don't want to put the URL here in this post let me know and I will send you an email.

Regards,

Sonya

Hello,

That actually is not the correct URL. This is what you should be using:

http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/eaglewolf/nt0015.jpg

So it should include the 000000's and all?

Hi,

Yes, as that is the correct URL for your image.

Also if I have an item that needs two pictures listed with it, how does that go in my spreadsheet?

I just tried with your url and I got this for all the items:

Error
Record 7 ( Title = Barbie 1950 Replica Animated Telephone ) : Image name 'http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/bin/imageserver.x/00000000/eaglewolf/barbie.jpg' is not valid

SO know what?

Hi Eaglewolf,

I've double-checked the inventory import and I'll try to outline the full procedure here.

To import your inventory items with their images into SMPro, please follow the following steps:

1. First of all, please make sure that all referred images are part of the SMPro image album. If they were added to the online image hosting account, make sure that they have synched down into SMPro.

2. Write the simple image names in one or more Excel columns; no URL's are needed, just the simple file names (nt0015.jpg in your case). Thus, if multiple images are needed for some items, each will go in its own column and the columns will all be mapped inside the importer to the same "Image" field.

3. If you get errors on one or more images, please check for any possible issues with these specific images, such as:
- the image not being part of the SMPro image album
- the image not being in the right format (SMPro would not process .gif files for instance)
- typos or upper/lower case mismatch in the image name (nt0015.jpg is not the same as nt0015.JPG).

Please let us know if you still encounter any trouble.

I tried this and got the following message:

Record 8 ( Title = Embassy USA Genuine Leather Briefcase ) : Image name 'BCPLB.jpg' is not valid

Now what? The picture is in the SMPro application and is online in image host. The name is spelled correctly.

Hi Eaglewolf,

Please make sure that there is no extra space in the Excel cell, either at the start or at the end of the image name.

Thanks,
