Just received email stating the WBN froze on them before they got my address. (This case will use Money Order and needs address for mailing) (In post sale, I received the response with customer's address/payment type--so they did make it that far through the form). This has happened several times. What is making it freeze on them before completion? Is there something I/YOU can do? Also, most customers mail a copy of my storefront page with their item circled. Can I make it so that they by-pass the storefront...short of not having one (have had over a year...and not one sale yet) (or get to the end of the invoice sooner with less "junk" and this may keep it from freezing? I believe most people are sick of long/drawn out forms with advertisements and business will be better if the WBN is quick and to the POINT! I end up more often than not, having to email for payment rather than the "not so user friendly" WBN working for me and my customer. TIA

Just like that little smiley face automatically added to my post above. I didn't put that there! If the WBN contains stuff like that...no wonder people get tired of it and avoid using it! This is a business and as such...(although smiley faces have their place)I would prefer them and the like not to be on my invoices (WBN). Thank you.

Hi Ramabele,

If you want your customers to bypass the storefront, simply turn off the shopping cart feature in Global Preferences. This will make it a straight WBN. Regarding the frozen WBN -- a lot of the time it is the web browser being used, I would advise the user to try again and if they continue to have problems let us know.

The smiley faces do not appear on your WBN. It's an emoticon that can be used on web boards based on character strokes you use on the keyboard.

Regards,

Sonya

Thank you Sonya for your quick response to my question. I believe I will turn off my storefront and see if that helps, as I don't think telling an already perturbed customer to "try again" is such a good idea! Why doesn't AW have a very simple "user friendly" WBN that every web browser can handle? And just a comment, no need for reply: I don't know what an "emoticon" is. All I did, when the "smiley face" appeared was use "closed quotes"...must be some kind of html I'm not familiar with. Thanks Again for your help.

I was about to turn off the shopping cart features, but before I do... just wondering what, if any, effect will there be on my "combinable" options in post sale, or if by some miracle, I sell something in the storefront, they want to combine for shipping. TIA

Hello,

It disables the ability for the customer to automatically combine puchases. If you had a person who bought something at a buy now price in your storefront, and they also won one of your auctions, you could still do a search by email or search by combineable items in Post Sale and combine them yourself.

Sonya

Thank you Sonya...but can AW help with this? I repeat...Why doesn't AW have a very simple "user friendly" WBN that every web browser can handle?

Hello ramebele,

We do our best to design our tools to work with as many different system configurations as possible, but unfortunately, it is largely dependent on the computer system your customer is using. If their system is low on memory for example, or they are using an outdated browser, or running multiple applications at once, they might experience problems.

If you notice a commonality with these (like, they are all using the same ISP), please let us know.

Thanks,

Diana
