Good Morning:
I have followed the directions precisely to create an export file from the ARCHIVE section of the on-line Sales Manager system. I selected the Start Date (2002, 01, 01) and the End Date (2002, 09, 15), I selected the type of items (Sold) and the format to export (Complete).
I then clicked the 'Export' button. There was a pause of several seconds, then the download dialogue came up. The file it wanted to save was called: "archive.htm." It saved the file to my desktop.
The file contained no records. Instead, it contained a text-only version of the Sales Manager Archive|Export screen!
The number of records to be retrieved did not exceed or even approach 10,000 (I wish). Besides, should not this file be a CSV or other delimited file, something other than an HTML file?
Have repeated the procedure several times trying other date ranges, formats, etc. Nothing works. I need that data desperately.

Hi Sonya:
No, Excel format it is not in the choices. The export file to be downloaded is named by the AW sending server as "archive.htm." The only choices given in the browser "Save As" dialogue are to save it as an HTML file or "All Files." It wouldn't make any difference anyway, since the contents of the file do not change as a result of the file extension or name given.
To be clear: The export file downloaded contains no records -- only HTML and Java from the AW web site. Your server is sending me a reflection of the HTML file used to display the Archive|Export screen, not an Excel file. I suggest you try it and see for yourself.
Either way, I desperately need that data. All has been going well, but this one is beyond me. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. IE5, plain vanilla, everything works perfectly, I followed the AW directions precisely. I am a veteran programmer and I do know how to navigate, save files, etc.
I was unable to replicate the problem that you have described. Please check your preferences for your OS and your browser as there is probably a setting that is off somewhere.
