SMBE is more extensive, allowing for doing all post-sale management offline and maintaining your inventory offline. It's a terrific program if you need or want all that. For instance, offline post-sale management is great if you're on a dial-up or other slow speed connection.
Unfortunately, for some reason AW hasn't updated SMBE for a while, so it doesn't support some of the newer eBay features, most notably fixed-price listings. SM Pro has been upgraded and does support fixed-price.
I asked when SMBE would be updated, and was stunned when I was told AW has no timetable for doing that yet. Many of us are wondering why AW upgraded the No. 2 product, but not the No. 1.
Anyway, the answer is SMBE is worthless if you plan to do a lot of fixed price listing. Otherwise it's great if you want or need its features.
