What is the best way to take a picture of a piece of jewlery. The ones I've taken turn out really small with my camera.
Thanks.
If you are scanning them you may want to increase the resolution a little bit so they come out bigger. You can also enlarge images in a graphics program.

Unless you are dealing with a lot of depth of field you can scan directly. I list 100's of jewelry items weekly and rarely need a camera. The scanner I use allows me to set the size of the target area so I don't end up pixelated. I also swear by Photo Shop with Image Ready and rarely have a file size over 15K - 17K.

Thank you Sonia and Dave Braun for answering.
Dave, is the scanner you have a regular picture scanner or a hand held one? I have a scanner that can scan photographs.

I use an Epson Perfection 1200 Photo which is no longer in production, I don't see how you could get any king of decent results with a hand held unit.

I'll probably mess around with my scanner and see how the pictures look with different settings.
Thanks Dave
