If you have auctions that you have completed post sale for, you can archive them to clear out your post sale section and keep things neater. The archive can be downloaded to your computer and used to create sales reports if you wish, to keep track of your sales.
If you don't want to use the archive you don't have to -- the auto archive feature can be turned off in Global Preferences.
