Hello janefinds,

If you are unable to view or upload your images, synchronize SM Pro/BE, or you are having trouble accessing other areas of our website, please try the following:

1. The first thing to try if you are using Internet Explorer is to install all available Microsoft updates. To do this, click on "Tools" on your browser tool bar. Then:

-Click on "Windows Update".
-Click on "Product Update" on the Microsoft site.
-Wait while Microsoft determines what software updates are needed.
-Click on "Critical Updates".
-Install "Critical Updates".
-Restart your computer.

2. Clear your browser cache, and/or using a different browser to view your images or access our website.

3. If you are an AOL user, try using a different local dialup number if there is one available in your area.

4. Check any web monitoring tools you may be running to make sure image viewing is enabled.

5. If you are having trouble viewing images or uploading, make sure that your images do not exceed 150kb apiece, and/or try uploading them in smaller numbers. Also, try using the "Manage Images" link within Sales Manager rather than the Image Hosting tab.

If this does not help, and you are having trouble with image viewing/uploading please try this:

1. Go to Start -> Run
2. Type in tracert -d imagehost.auctionwatch.com
3. Let us know the IP address of the last entry (this should be 66.7.130.10)

If you are not having trouble specifically with images, or the tracert disappears and you are unable to copy the results, please try using a different tool, which is available for free download - this is a tracert tool that can be used to monitor your connection with any internet site. Here is the URL to download this tool (WinMtr):

http://www.webattack.com/get/winmtr.shtml

Be sure to save the WinMtr.exe file to you desktop. Once this is downloaded, open the application and type www.auctionwatch.com in the host field. Let the trace run for about 1 minute, then stop and email a copy/paste of the results to us. This will help us determine if and where any packet loss is occuring.

Thank you for your patience, and for your assistance in this matter.

Tara

Tara,

You posted Windows specific instructions. I am on a Mac with OSX and IE 5.2 with all the latest security updates. I have had this configuration for years and have never had trouble uploading. Everything is enabled and I do have issues with any other site, service, or technology. This is only been an issue over the last several days, or specificaly after your system outtages the other day.

It is your site that is hanging up the upload.

I have asked for the last couple of years for AW to develop a Mac version of SM Pro and the only response has been: "get Virtual PC for Mac". Not very helpful. That has always left me with one way to upload; through the browser.

Please have some look at this on your end, do not assume immediately that it is on the user end.

Thanks.

Hi Janefinds,

Have you tried uploading your images in smaller groups? How many do you normally upload at a time?

Regards,

Sonya

I normally upload with maximum fields showing but over the last several days I have tried one at a time, two, three. You name it. A couple of times one image went up, but it took a long time and on the second try, regardless of number of images selected, it just hangs up.

This started after 11/20, or when you had system issues that are noted as resolved now. I have even tried running IE6 in virtual PC and the same thing happens.

As a test I have tried FTP'ing images to my own server and there no problem. It only happens with your image upload.

Bottom line is this is completely halted my business in holiday season.

Please help.

Hi Janefinds,

Engineering has been looking into this and was not able to find any image hosting problems in relation to your upload problems. They have recommended that you try uploading a small test file -- if this does not work, try contacting your ISP or use an alternate one if you can.

Regards,

Sonya
