Is there a way I can turn off the "message to seller" part of the post sale. It would be nice if I could. I really dont like having another place to have to check for messages. Besides the placement of this message area is dumb. Buyers are putting in messages such as "i need your address to send payment", when my address comes later in the checkout process. Then I'am wondering "do they need my address or dont they????"

PLEASE LET ME GET RID OF THIS FEATURE!!!!!!!!!

Hello camodog,

I don't believe that there is a way to disable the message to seller box. You might want to insert some messaging in your WBN welcome message that indicates your address will appear in subsequent screens.

I will log your request for the product manager.

Thanks,

Diana

count me in as well - I don't like it - people think that it is like email and that the message will get to me immediately not when I log on to print the labels -- I don't like the message to seller - it is too easy to miss the messages for 2 or 3 days

I agree that the message to seller should be repositioned on the last page. I get the "I need your address...." messages everyday.

Also, I wonder why I can't reply to the message directly when I read their message.

I have put messages in my auctions and in the initial WBN page and winners still use this message area. They seem to use it even more...often with very important messages that I dont find for a while...please,please, please let us turn it off!!!

Same thing. I have so much information already listed in the WBN it would just be something else they don't read.

It seems ridiculous to tell a customer "I have a message form; don't use it!" anyway.

I notice the messages left on newer auctions but after they are a few pages down I find all sorts of messages that I have missed. If there needs to be a message area it should email the message to my desktop or I would like to be able to shut it entirely. I get emails from customers, others send messages through eBay checkout even though I don't use it and state I don't plus I find messages well after the fact in the message field. The only use I've ever found for that area is pasting the address of customers who don't fill out the checkout while I'm filling it out. When I have the page open the message fiewld is too far below the fold to notice anyway.

This topic has appeared on and off over the past year that I am aware of.

As a seller I want only one way for buyers to communicate with me and that is thru email. Paypal is just as bad. They should get rid of that message area but I wont hold my breath waiting for them to change anything.

Just wondering if AW product manager has considered this request. I had about 3 requests from customers to send items express so they could get by Christmas left in this area. I saw 2 of them but not the third.

I put message in auctions not to use and they STILL DO.

Please....this is a stupid and useless feature that just causes problems for both the seller and buyer.

Please give us the option to turn it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent.
good day

Count my vote as YES, let's disable this problem creating child.

The intentions were well meant when placing it there but face it... people WILL NOT read anything in the welcome text.

If your hand offends thee... cut it off!

Let's cut this Message To Seller off at the quick... and pretty quick too.

It creates more problems than it solves.

I'll vote for eliminating it at least twice (it's the American way)
