I too am having no success in launching images or new auctions using Sales Manager Pro. This issue must be something relatively new, as I have had no trouble in the past. Here is what I'm getting as far as uploading will go before it locks up:

Start banner synchronization.
Banner synchronized.
Start announcements synchronization.
Announcements synchronized.
Comparing local and online counters.
Local and online counters are identical.
Comparing local and online templates.
Local and online templates are identical.
Comparing local and online logos.

Comparing local and online saved templates.
Saved templates compared, update will follow.
Comparing local and online site descriptions.
Site descriptions compared, update will follow.
Comparing local and online partner information.
Local and online partner information is identical.
Comparing local and online preferences.
Local and online preferences are identical.
Comparing local and online images.
Images compared, update will follow.
Start version synchronization.
Version synchronized.
Start time synchronization.
Time synchronized.
Start updating logos.
No update necessary.
Start updating saved templates.
Local saved templates updated.
Start updating site descriptions.

Start updating images.
Uploading Image 'chchills25.jpg'.

I am also having no success at manually uploading using the website. I certainly would like to resolve this VERY soon, as I have approx. 180 new auctions that I would like to post within the next few days. PLEASE HELP !

Hello,

Please delete that image that the sync halted on from the image bar. Then, proceed with the synchronization. If it stops on any other images, delete those as well until the sync completes. You can then upload those images online in Image Hosting, and then reimport them online so they don't have to be synchronized again.

Sonya

I have already tried that with no success. Can't upload by synch or online. Auction Watch won't accept my images no way, no how. Using Windows 98SE. ISP is Optimum Online.

Hello,

Do you have other access numbers that you can try for your ISP? Most likely this issue is related to your ISP so you might want to check with them to see if they are having any trouble.

I have been in contact with my ISP and they are experiencing NO DIFFICULTIES with their systems. Auction Watch is the ONLY website that I am currently having any problems with. I am able to browse the internet, upload and retrive files from everywhere else that I have visited in the past couple of days EXCEPT for Auction Watch. I must say, the problem would certainly seem to be YOURS and not someone else's. I have done EXTENSIVE troubleshooting and the only fault seems to be yours. Needless to say, our mutual ability to make a living is being hindered here. I am wont to have to find another auction service to use, especially this close to the holidays, but I may have little choice. Any further suggestions?

Hello,

Please try these suggestions and post the results in this thread for us:

1. The first thing to try if you are using Internet Explorer is to install all available Microsoft updates. To do this, click on "Tools" on your browser tool bar. Then:

-Click on "Windows Update".
-Click on "Product Update" on the Microsoft site.
-Wait while Microsoft determines what software updates are needed.
-Click on "Critical Updates".
-Install "Critical Updates".
-Restart your computer.

2. Clear your browser cache, and/or using a different browser to view your images or access our website.

3. Try using a different local dialup number if there is one available in your area.

4. Check any web monitoring tools you may be running to make sure image viewing is enabled.

5. If you are having trouble viewing images or uploading, make sure that your images do not exceed 150kb apiece, and/or try uploading them in smaller numbers. Also, try using the "Manage Images" link within Sales Manager rather than the Image Hosting tab.

If this does not help, and you are having trouble with image viewing/uploading please try this:

1. Go to Start -> Run
2. Type in tracert -d imagehost.auctionwatch.com
3. Let us know the IP address of the last entry (this should be 66.7.130.10)

If you are not having trouble specifically with images, or the tracert disappears and you are unable to copy the results, please try using a different tool, which is available for free download - this is a tracert tool that can be used to monitor your connection with any internet site. Here is the URL to download this tool (WinMtr):

http://www.webattack.com/get/winmtr.shtml

Be sure to save the WinMtr.exe file to you desktop. Once this is downloaded, open the application and type www.auctionwatch.com in the host field. Let the trace run for about 1 minute, then stop and email a copy/paste of the results to us. This will help us determine if and where any packet loss is occuring.

Thank you for your patience, and for your assistance in this matter.

Regards,

Sonya

Hello,

Please try to do some full length packet pings:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
C:\>ping -l 1472 -n 100 -f www.auctionwatch.com

Pinging www.auctionwatch.com [66.7.130.14] with 1472 bytes of data:

Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
Reply from 66.7.130.14: bytes=1472 time=20ms TTL=61
------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the above example we show that we can send packets of 1472 bytes long
(1473 bytes will be to large and will require fragmenting -> which is
inhibited when using the -f option).

Please try running the above step for a while to see if using longer packet
lengths impact the ping time. If it does, try reducing the -l size from
1472 to around 50. If ping time improves, that indicates some issues with
your modem through to your ISP.

Sonya

Hi Occhi1,

I believe engineering is also going to contact you since this is indeed the same problem. You should hear from them shortly, if you haven't already.

Regards,

Sonya
