Here's a slightly dense newbie question: A buyer contacted me by email about shipping and I told him I had shipped the item. I like the post sale steps to be checked off as items are completed, so I checked off item shipped. Does the program automatically send an email saying the item was shipped if I just check the check box? Just want to avoid duplicate emails. Thanks.

Hi Xabeque,
The shipment notification is not an automatic step -- you must send it manually if you want to send it to customers. There are some automatic notifiers, you can set these to go automatically in My Account > Post Sale Management Options. Let me know if you have any questions about those.

I personally check #5 (Shipped) after I print the shipping label and place the tracking number in the tracking number place holder.
Once the package is in the hands of the shipment carrier, I check #6 and the Shipment Notification is then sent to the
buyer automatically. This email contains a link so they can track the package whose tracking number you placed at #5.
So it is automatic, but when checking #6 Notify, not #5 Shipped.
