This is a problem we have from time to time. Have posted before and it goes away for a while, then returns. Yesterday launched about 30 auctions, and 2 doubled. The one we will delete are these:

2540183299

2540183048

The ones we will keep:

2540183007

2540183171

What causes this and how can we avoid this problem in the future. We checked pending at the end of day, and they had not doubled there.

Hello,

Duplicate listings may result from the following conditions:

1. During the create listing process in Sales Manager, you may have accidentally double-clicked on the "launch" button, or used "stop" and "refresh" if there was a delay.
2. If you used Sales Manager Pro or Business Edition, you may have resynchronized a batch again after an error during synchronization. In this case, some auctions may be uploaded before the error is produced. If you resynchronize without removing these from the batch, they will be duplicated. We recommend checking your online account and/or email account before uploading again if you receive a synchronization error.
3. You may have attempted to list a large volume from Inventory, resulting in a page timeout. The browser error may have instructed you to reload the page, which can result in duplicate listings if you do not check Sales Manager to see if any listings were created before the timeout occurred.

To remove duplicate auctions in your pending list, check the "select" box corresponding to each auction and then use the "delete" button. If the listings are already scheduled for launch, click the Pending link in the left navigation bar, then select the scheduled listings and click the "cancel" button.

Please note that if an auction is already active, you will need to end it early directly at the auction site to avoid any problems. To end an eBay auction early, please visit this URL:

None of the three conditions you state applies. These are not examples of what happened. There is some other problem. We did not find duplicate listings in pending. The problem occurred somewhere between pending and the eBay launch.

Hi Sonya, went over things yesterday. Neither of these auctions were duplicated in pending. We checked that thoroughly as we have this problem from time to time. Seems like certain categories in inventory are prone to it. We did no reloads during launch. So, we are at a loss as to how we deal with this. We can not find any error in the process. Are there other causes than the three you describe?

Hi Dale,

Are you listing from Sales Manager inventory, or from Sales Manager Pro inventory? Do you list a large group of items all at one time?

From Inventory. Launched 3 auctions at once. Does that count as a large number? Dale

We seem to use Sales Manager alone.

This happened again Monday. Launched 21 auctions, got a page not available. Tried again, same result. Went to pending and discovered that we had 63 auctions ready to launch. Each one had gone up three times.

We did not receive any confirmation of launch success. Just the page not available. And tried this twice, not three times.

Does this give any clues as to what is going on?

Hello,

One more question on this -- do you use the AOL browser? It appears that it is timing out when you do larger groups of auctions. Please try using Internet Explorer instead. Typically when a page times out, it is best to check the auction site to see if the auctions have launched so that you avoid having duplicate listings.

Regards,

Sonya
