Three of my customers have emailed to say they keep getting error messages when trying to choose which form of payment they wanted to use. It will not allow them to choose any of those offered, and they cannot continue. What's going on? Please look into this immediately!!!!!!

They just say that when they're trying to choose Paypal, or money order, or any option, that it gives them an error message and they can't get any further. It has happened on the following item numbers: 3138965734, 3538834852, and 2941665060

I've tried to replicate it with no success. I asked one of my buyers to try it again, and it still happens. When you say "same ISP", what exactly does that mean? That doesn't mean what server are they using, such as AOL, Yahoo, Earthlink, correct? Give me an example.

You guys have GOT TO DO SOMETHING about this!!!! I had THREE more people say they are having the same problem this morning. I have not had this problem before, so I don't think suddenly this is an ISP problem. I'm not sure why other people are not seeming to have the same problem, but this has got to be looked into more closely as to why I've had now SIX of my buyers stating the similar problem. The first person to have this problem began on the 21st, but the other 5 complaints have been on the 22nd and 23rd.

Don't feel left out.
I have posted about error codes for everything I am trying to list...some finally work, others are dead in the water.
Hopefully VENDIO will respond!
GOOD LUCK!

Hi Toyspast,
I did try to replicate the probelm with the given examples. All worked fine. There are several reasons for which a buyer cannot pass past the checkout page you have mentioned, but all the errors are explained to the users.
Yes, 'same ISP' means same Internet aservice Provider, such as Earthlink.

Hi, Marius:
All of these people have different ISP - one is on Yahoo, one is on AOL, and the others are on different servers. I think it's more important that I've had several people ALL AT ONCE having this problem, then pointing the finger at an ISP. Generally, when you are going along fine with no problems with a particular service, such as Vendio, and then all of a sudden there are tons of problems, then I think all fingers need to go back to the provider of service. YOU!! I need to have this looked at in a more serious way, especially if I keep having people emailing me they can't get past the second page. Then why am I paying you folks all this money every year? I've been with this company for 3 or 4 years now, so I expect to get help when I ask for it. Do you want copies of the emails that state they are having this problem? The fact that you can't seem to replicate the problem does not make the problem go away.

Hello toyspast,
We are looking into this, but it is difficult to do so because we cannot replicate the error.
It would be helpful to know what the error says, if any of your customers have told you. Also, do you happen to know if they get this error when they use the drop-menu or when they try to confirm the order? If they get the error on selecting from the drop-menu it could be a browser-related error. In this case it would be helpful to know what browser and version your buyer is using. I know that this information can be difficult to obtain, and we would be willing to email your buyer on your behalf if you prefer this.

Hi, Diana:
In case you did not receive my email, here is my answer to your question above.
Here are what 3 of my customers said:
1) Basically, when I'm entering my form of payment (whether check or money order), it isn't receiving it and defaulting back to the same screen
2) Everytime I clicked on "continue" the same page would come back with the heading of ERROR - choose payment method. I chose all the payment methods andnothing worked. I did my best!
3) I went to your checkout page but on the
second page I got an error that said "Please select a payment method" even
though I had selected one. I tried multiple times but I received the same
error each time.
I don't have many auctions ending until Saturday, except people who have used the BIN option. I just had one that didn't go thru my check-out. I will tell you every single time I have a customer complain until this problem gets fixed. I appreciate your attention to this matter.

Thank you for posting back. We are looking into this now, and at this point we believe the problem is most likely affecting the Mac IE browser only. I apologize for the inconvenience, and if you are able to find out if your buyers are Mac users it would be helpful.

Hi,
I don't think it's just Mac IE users. I don't have a Mac and I'm able to duplicate the problem that one of my customers has. Here is what happens on ebay item 2647063076 :
- From Fulfillment checklist click on "go to buyer checkout"
- Check insurance box, click on "checkout"
- check Paypal box, enter name address, city, state, zip, and USA
check the box that says billing info the same as shipping info ****NOTE---the billing info boxes are NOT filled in immediately like they normally are!!!
- click continue
Then the following error message comes up:
"ERROR:
Please select a payment method.
Please complete the following Shipping fields:
Name
StreetAddress1
City
Country"
- next I reenter the Payment type as "Paypal" again, and just type in the billing address info instead of checking the "Click here if same as billing address"
and click continue
The following error message comes up:
"ERROR:
Please select a payment method."

Hello mycoolstuff,
What version of AOL are you currently running on your system?
Also, can you use the 'go to buyer checkout' on one of your other listings and see if this is happening on all, or just particular listings?
We are currently checking into this issue, and apologize for the inconvenience.
So far mycoolstuff, you are the only report we have of a Windows OS that has been running into this error. What version of Windows are you running? Also, when you are doing this, are you within the AOL window, or do you have a browser launched externally from AOL that you are using? (if so, what browser/version is it?)
Sorry for all of the questions, we are still trying to narrow down who is effected along with the cause.

Hello Anita,
Thank you for letting us know. If you minimize the AOL window, and launch Internet Explorer from outside of AOL and try the same thing, what happens?
Stay connected to the internet via AOL, just minimize the window so you can use Internet Explorer directly rather than through the AOL window, just to see if that has any change in effect. I actually just tried it on dialup using AOL8.0, but was unable to replicate it on that setup personally.

Christopher,
I minimized AOL and launced Internet Explorer and this time when I checked billing address same as shipping, it did duplicate those address fields. However after I clicked on continue I still got the "ERROR:
Please select a payment method."
I can't imagine that it would make a difference but do I have DSL instead of dial up.

Hello Anita,
Thank you for the information, it is appreciatted.
If possible, and you know how to do this, could you take a screen shot for us, so we can see what this looks like when it happens on your Windows system?

Christopher,
I have the screen shot saved into a jpeg file. If you can email me I'll reply to that email and send it to you in an attachment.

Message to MyCoolStuff: THANK YOU!! It's nice to know I'm not the only one in this boat. And you sound much more able to help them locate this problem. Keep up the good work! 8-)
