Since the new templates were put in place, I am having problems with my listings, even those created using OLD templates. For an example, please see item #2942999778
The problems I have are:
1. Extra unwanted images caused by the Ebay Photo Preview. If I pick "Use your first listing image" I end up with an extra copy of that image. If I pick "Leave this space blank" I get a little dot.
2. There is now at least one extra Vendio promotional link being added to the bottom of the description, in addition to the Vendio logo. (Two in the new templates). I don't mind promoting you guys, because I think your services are great, but this seems a bit much. You're taking too much real estate and too much verbiage in my auctions!
Without hand-editing the html after the item is posted in Ebay, how can I trim out some of this fat? I don't see any buttons in the template editor that gives me any control over this info.
I've checked the listing you reference, and I do see the small dot under the ad. This is caused by the 'cleardot.gif' clear pixel that we send to eBay to trigger the camera icon next to your ad in a search list. It appears that eBay has applied a border to the image, which is why it looks like a dot. You might want to contact eBay about this, as I believe that we need to submit an image so that the camera icon will be triggered, and we have no control over the border around the image. I'll follow up on our end as well, to make sure there is no way around this.
The extra credit text is for our image hosting service, which is a separate service from Sales Manager. Per eBay rules, service providers are allowed a small amount of promotional text for each service offered. We need to insert promotional text into ads to help offset the cost of advertising, which allows us to keep our fees as low as possible.
