With ebay's new format change, I have started having more and more emails asking how much the S&H to their zip code. I did not understand what was going on, I place a S&H rate on every auction...? I took a look at my auctions to verify that the S&H was listed and I see what the problem is.
In all of my auctions ( all 859 of them ) it shows the cost of Shipping & Handling in one area and then if you continue to scroll down you will pass the "Hits" Counter , then pass the advertising for paypal services, then pass a final "iPix" picture. Right under that final picture you come to a area that says:
Shipping and payment details
Shipping and handling: Shipping costs will be specified later
Buyer pays for all shipping costs
Will ship to United States only.
I need to know how to take "Shipping costs will be specified later" off of these auctions.
I have tried to find out if this is something I need to change with Vendio or if this is something I need to change with eBay presets, but I have not found this option in either service.
Please, see any of my auctions for an example of what I am speaking of.

From the My Account tab, click on the eBay Site Specifics link found within. From this page, if you check the box that says 'I am specifying Payment Details' - you can then list your shipping and handling costs into this box instead of having eBay say they will be specified at a later date.
Unfortunately, that does mean entering your information twice, but with the new link near the top of the page that points to this section, that would be the only way currently to avoid this situation of buyers skipping the description completely and emailing you directly.

Will this be something that will be corrected any time soon? I am sure that I am not the only one that is running in to this problem, and I am certainly not going to put this information in twice for 900 to 1000 items up for bid each week.
When Bidders are "shopping" they like to see how much that S&H is going to be, or they feel like someone is going to throw them an outrageous amount after they bid. I know it sounds stupid but the bidders first reaction, I have found, is to be on the defense when purchasing items on-line, and I don't blame them.
When bidders come across this kind of situation they tend to go for the "next guys'" auction that has all costs clearly listed, rather than take the chance of having to pay huge shipping amounts because it was not stated clearly.
Because of this little glitch, this could be costing me sales/money due to the fact that the auction is stating two totally different Shipping Methods / Preferences.
I have been very pleased with the vendio service and think you guys have really done a good job in taking care of your customers needs compared the "AW" days. I do hope to see a correction on this soon. Thanks

I agree with Milhar2. Although I am new to this and haven't listed much, I had discovered that exact problem. Once the auctions were launched, I had to spend hours going in through the eBay portal to "revise" each one of my auctions since I was being innundated with eMail's asking what the shipping costs would be! Isn't there anyway to do "blanket" corrections after auctions are listed from the Vendio site? It would be a much easier process.
Once auctions are live on the eBay site, the only way to revise them unfortunately is directly from the eBay site and one at a time. Even at eBay directly there is no blanket revision.
A blanket correction would not really work anyway, unless you had planned to offer the exact same shipping costs for all of your auctions when you enable the shipping details box.

I have also had a problem with this since the new ebay format. It used to read something like "Please see item description". In all fairness to Vendio I think this may be an ebay issue. If you go into an auction to revise an item you are presented with only two choices for shipping: 1) not specified or 2) actually imputting the shipping costs. I had presumed that ebay had eliminated the "see item description" option and that everything other than specific costs entered are defaulting to this new message "shpping costs will be specified later". If Vendio confims this presumption then it is really up to all of us to contact ebay to complain and ask them to return the "see item description" option. The only thing that Vendio can do for us is to create a workaround that automatically imputs the same information that we place in the "shipping and handling" section of their templates to this area as well thus eliminating our need to enter this information twice.

I agree !!!
We should have the option of putting in
"see item description"
or
"shipping costs will be specified later".
or
If you know what the shipping is, and you don't have it listed in the ad, then being able to put it in.

I have the same problem, and it's not small.
it's a huge hassle. I have bidders e-mailing me constantly asking for sh&H ( although I have it listed in the description)
Now, I have a direct and straightforward questions to vendio staff :
Are you working on the problem ? Do you have plans to work on it ? Do you even realize that it is a huge hassle for sellers?
Yes, we are working this. We realize that it is a hassle, and appreciate your patience as we work on adapting to the changes eBay made to that section.
I would also like to mention that if you are using our new template system, and you have enabled the Payment section to appear within your listings, when customers click on the "shipping and payment details" link it will take them to that section within your listing. You can enable payment details to appear in your listings through My Account > Global Preferences, in the Auction Listing Options section.

Planejane is right, I have ran tests and the only 2 options a "shipping determined later" or you can specify a single price for shipping which of course defeats the purpose of the great Vendio feature of offering different shipping methods and prices.
You can add their calculator as well, maybe they are trying to strong arm everyone into using that.
While I'm thinking of it, I would be great to incorporate shipping calculators into our auctions through Vendio that tie into the checkout process and offer not just calculated Priority Mail, but also first class, parcel post, fed ex, ups?? Thanks.
