Go to PayPal, log in and check the left hand margin, bottom for Policy updates. It will inform sellers of this new guaranted for buyers that will go into effect in October. If we choose to offer this, buyer will purchase this for a nominal sum if they choose. Then if items do not arrive -they can notify PayPal for refund. If items are not acceptable they can return them to PAYPAL for refund. Supposedly there is no cost or liability to us (sellers). However, they have already started this program with certain selected sellers who qualify. If you were chosen, you should have received an email stating all this and a link to PayPal to accept this option. PROBLEM: I didn't find out I was chosen until a buyer paid me through PayPal and I received the payment notice indicating that they had also purchased the "guarantee". When I went to PayPal and checked-the option was there with a "check" in the box. I didn't receive the email;didn't accept the service. I don't want PayPal to intervene in my customer service. I want my customers to purchase "postal insurance" if they want to insure against lost packages and to deal with me about refunds. I urge everyone to : go to PayPal, choose PROFILE, SELLING PREFERENCES. Check and see if GUARANTEE PREFERENCES is at the bottom of the list. If it is, click on and check to see if your box has a "check". I assume that everyone has the "PREFERENCES" included in their list. If not , then it is only the "chosen" sellers who have this. My apologies for the length of this email. I caution everyone to check their settings occasionally to make sure items are not being added without your knowledge.
