Here is a copy of an email I sent eBay and part of thier response:
"Help!! I have been trapped in "Add to your item description hell for the last 30 minutes." I
have an item to which I need to make an addition. It has a bid and 3 days to go. I first tried
clicking on the "Revise Your Item" link on the auction page. Then, I clicked on the "add to
description" link. I entered the information and then clicked on the "Save Changes Link"
Then I get a message that my changes were not saved because the item has a bid.
So, I went to the site map to do it the old fashioned way. Using the "Add to your description"
pages. Everything went fine until I got to the "Submit Button".. Clicked on the button and
nothing happened. Tried it again and still nothing. Tried the Back Button and it doesn't work
either.
Decided it might be a problem with I.E. so I tried Netscape. When I got to the page to submit
the changes, I scrolled to the bottom and there was no "Submit" bottom or "Back Button"
Cleared my cache and cookies in both I.E. and Netscape. Tried again. Same problems. Shut
down the computer and restarted. Still the same problems."
EBay responded:
"Thank you for writing to eBay's Customer Support. I would be happy to
help.
I can understand your frustration with having trouble adding to your
listing. Since the item was listed through a third party, there may be
a conflict in the coding added with that and the new update to the
listing. I would recommend ending and relisting to make your changes."
A few months ago when I needed to add to the item description, I had the same problem. Got
the bright idea to cancel the bid and then do a revision. Wrong.. That wouldn't work either.
Ended the auction, made the change and relsited. My bidder didn't return to bid again.
What Vendio changes need to be made so that it does not affect adding to the descirption on eBay's site? Is there a way to add to the description through Vendio? This is an ongoing problem. Please fix!!

Hello,
Regarding the back and submit buttons -- we recommend you contact eBay about that since the buttons are on their pages. Your can also try waiting a few minutes before initially clicking on the submit button.
Listing through a third party provider has nothing to do with why you would not be able to edit a listing. Here is the URL to the page in eBay help that explains editing rules:

Sonya: I am aware of the rules as what can and cannot be revised. This item has 3 days to go and has a bid. I cannot revise the description but should be able to add to to the descirption.
Scott L. S., eBay Technical Support blames third party vendor coding. You say it cannot be a third party vendors fault. I don't know who is trying to pass the buck but the fact remains, I cannot add to the description of the item and don't know who is at fault.

Sonya: Just got off the telephone with eBay.. The person I talked with says there is an ongoing problem with "Add to Item description" and the engineers are working on it. I taked her for the information but did have to ask, "If that be the case, then why send me an email blaming it on the third party vendor?" Didn't much of a response other than, "That inofmraiton was not correct". .. Thanks for your help .. lOuis

Hello Louis,
Unfortunately, anytime you use a third part for listing tools, the reps at eBay will typically say any problem you may be running into is the result of your not using their own listing tools.
We are glad that you were able to get ahold of someone willing to actually check into the issue for you. Getting to the real cause can seem a bit like pulling teeth, but they usually come around in the end.
