how about these people at VENDIO forcing Pornographic material down our throats everytime we log in. Funny they annouce all kinds of changes except that eveytime you log in now they are going to throw a PORNOGRAPHIC POP-UP on your computer. I guess it's all about money for them. I hope they lose a lot of business over this. As a father and Christian I find this whole thing Very disturbing, I mean who does VENDIO want to cater to? SEX FREAKS and child molesters.
The staff at Vendio is committed to bringing our users the best possible web experience. Approximately 20 months ago, we made the decision that pop up / pop under advertisements were causing difficulties with our users, and decided to eliminate that format of advertising. We still offer "banner" and "tower" ad formats to help offset our company costs. This extra revenue has always helped us to deliver the best service at the best price for our user base.
Over the past 12 months we have focuses our advertising solicitations toward online commerce facilitators, as they may directly benefit our users. We have had strong supporters of our website including BidPay, CheckFree, C2it, Stamps.com, AuctionSection, and a wide variety of wholesale merchants. Although we do not directly endorse these specific products or services, we believe that many of our users could benefit from their product offerings. We also reserve the right to decline tasteless or bothersome banners. We have been very selective, and conservative compared to what you will find on the web today.
Q: If Vendio is not serving pop up or pop under advertisements, why do they appear when I use the Vendio site?
A. There are a few possible reasons for pop up advertisements to appear when the hosting site does not serve them. The most common reasons are 3rd party imbedded advertising "pop / advertising virusware" and time delays. Programs like Gator are often accidentally or intentionally downloaded into your program files. These programs track your browsing usage, and deliver advertising messages (usually pop up ads) while you're surfing the web. Another common reason users will get pop up ads even though the host site is not serving them is from delays. Any web site can put in an advertising "call" when a user visits the page. It's usually up to the website management to determine how long of a delay they will set on the pop up ad. Therefore, a pop up ad can be served several minutes to several hours after visiting that site.
We hope that this will help to clarify the situation, and reassure you that we listen to and appreciate your feedback.

There are no sex pop-ups from vendio, you have an embedded cookie on your drive thats popping those up, you most likely received it from another site without even being aware of it, use ad-aware to get rid of it, I've dealt with a lot of the staff from Vendio, its a fantastic company- I've tripled and quadrupled my business every year for the past 3 years as a direct result of Vendios services and its disheartening to see them get blamed for things like that.

I too have used AW/Vendio for as long as they have been around, and I've NEVER seen anything even remotely pornographic in any of their banners. I think you must have picked this one up elsewhere. Time to add a pop-up stopper to your system. Good luck.

tkhpenncom,
I have never had any Porn pop-ups in all of the many times that I have logged into Vendio. But I also have a freebie software called Pop-Up Stopper installed on my computer. Do a search on the internet and find this software and install it....it really does cut down the pop-ups by 99%. Every now and then 1 will slip by the software but I have never found it to be a porn type pop-up.
Also, do a search on the web for Ad-aware and install that also. While you are surfing the web you can pick up cookies that are basically a tracking device and the developers of these can track your surfing habits, abuse your Internet connection by sending this data to a third party, profile your shopping preferences, hijack your browser start page or pages, alter important system files, and can do this without your knowledge or permission. INSTALL THIS PROGRAM and run it DAILY to keep these cookies (such as gator, et al) off your system.

I use both Ad-aware (free - www.lavasoft.com ) as well as I have the google toolbar installed which has a popup blocker on it (you can chose to allow popups if you want on specific sites).

Kittie

I use http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=start
~ it's SPYBOT ~ SEARCH AND DESTROY and it works wonderfully. You will be AMAZED how many things are on your computer if you've never used a program like this.
I also have NEVER had a porno pop up from Vendio. I can appreciate your indignation as a Christian, as I am also a Christian, but it's misplaced and wrongly directed at Vendio.
