Well, in the last six months as a seller, i have seen Tax from various states added into my auctions when the buyer goes to pay for them.

Well, now that the buyer has paid for them, who and how do i pay the taxes on the items?

Do I have to send a check at the end of the year to each state??

If anyone knows where i can research this on Vendio, or anything that might aid me , it would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi. Do you have a state tax number? Do you use that when you buy at auction or elsewhere within your own state? If not, then you don't collect or pay sales tax on items you have sold.

In any case, you only collect sales tax from buyers within your own state. And you only pay tax to your state. And, as I say, you only do that if you are a registered retailer with a state tax number.

You pay the tax to your state when you file your business taxes, usually quarterly.
