I set up all my auctions with fixed shipping prices, one price for USPS 1st Class and a higher price for USPS Priority. I also check the box that allows the buyer to change the amount paid so that I can allow for international shipping costs.

Yesterday I had an international buyer for an auction where the auction quoted $2.50 for 1st Class and $4.50 for Priority. She emailed and said there was no option for International (which I knew because I never set-up anything for International). Her shipping charges were to be $7.00, I told her to choose Priority at $4.50 and just add $2.50 to the payment. Well, it didn't let her add the $2.50.

My questions are, how do I set up an auction to accept international sales where the shipping charges could vary from country to country and there are hundreds of countries to account for --and-- why is there a box to check to allow for extra payments if the system isn't going to let the customer add any money anyway?

Hello,

eBay's checkout allows customers to edit the shipping. Vendio Checkout does not allow for customers to edit the shipping. If you have a situation like this, you can get around it by going to post sale and deselecting step 1, then editing it to put in the international shipping rate. Then, resend the WBN to the customer, where they will be able to select the international shipping rate.

Regards,

Sonya

Sonya, thanks for the answer but when I tried this I guess I didn't know where to go. You say:

"you can get around it by going to post sale and deselecting step 1, then editing it to put in the international shipping rate."

Editing what? I clicked on the Edit button in step two to edit the checkout but the shipping only allows the choices I put in my original auction (1st Class & Priority), how do I now choose International Shipping? Or am I editing the wrong thing? If I only edit the text of the WBN, that won't help me when they go to check out, they still won't have the choice of International Shipping.

NikkiRaes,

Go to Vendio Post Sale.

Uncheck #1 which is the WBN (Winning Bidder Notification.

Edit the WBN, which is the little pencil and paper icon on the same line as step #1.

The reason for unchecking Step #1 is it will not let you edit the WBN if #1 is checked.

Set the new shipping item for international mail.

You can resend the WBN at that time if you like.

Make sure and save the changes to the WBN.

Good Luck!
