Since you have been doing maintenance and "upgrade" work the past three days, I can no longer the category prior to launching an auction item. When I type in the category number in the box, it immediately dissapears as soon as I start clicking down toward "Continue". I can enter and hold the category number when the box has a zero in it to begin with. I delete the zero ant type in the category number and it works fine. Therehas been no zero in the box or the last three days. I tried dumping my cookies, going off line, coming back in and bringing up the category page again. Still doesn't work. Has worked fine last three years. Help !

The problem you have described appears to be related to the WebTV platform, which Vendio does not actively support. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a fix for this. You may be able to work around it by listing your auctions directly on eBay, and using our system to host your images. Once your auction has been launched and is active, simply select 'existing auction' rather than 'new auction' from the drop-down menu in image hosting. The images will be automatically attached to your auction under the description.

Your answer is not acceptable. Since Microsoft is currently testing a new improved version of WEBTV (now MSNTV), it is time for your engineers to consult with Microsoft to make your two systems compatable and mutually supportive. It is not fair to treat WEBTV (MSNTV) customers as second class or unwanted, especially those of us who have been using your services fathfully for several years !
The solution above is not workable since I also have a Vendio Store Front and use your system to post items both on eBay and on my Store Front, and you use one to advertise the other!
The problem is, working on WebTV is like working on Internet Explorer 4.0. Website technology these days support versions 5.5 and up. Since Microsoft is working on a new and improved version, hopefully they will be integrating javascript and other technologies into this version so that their customers are not hindered when surfing the web. We do not have any other workarounds at this time, other than the one mentioned above.

Blarneystones, I also use Webtv, was having the same problem. After playing around and searching for a fix, I found a cure for disappearing Category #`s. At create listing page, click on grey box to the left of Cat. # box, go down scroll list to the 2nd null> icon, click on that, then go to the first 2 large grey Cat. fields and click to show the 2nd null>, then enter your Cat. #, it should hold when you go to continue. If not, play around with these features until you find the fields that work for you. It`s a pain at first, but when you find the answer, it will continue to work. Too bad Vendio won`t even try to assist us Webtv`rs when they change the site. Good Luck, Mike

DrDementia, did you try this? It works, you might have to revise it a little, clicking on different null> fields till numbers hold. Make sure all cookies are completely cleared before trying. Mike
I haven't tried that one, but I will. (although I HATE long "workarounds"!)
Everyone reading these posts still seems to be missing the point, which is ......... why do all of the other fields in "Sales Manager" work with WebTv, EXCEPT that one?
If it's the Java script, then why isn't everything else affected?
To prove MY point, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. For the next 24 hours (until 1:05 P.M EST on 4/7/04) I will give ANYONE who can provide me with a link to another website that has an information field that AUTOMATICALLY ERASES ITSELF WHEN THE CURSOR IS MOVED OFF OF IT, $10 (via PayPal).

Tim, just tried 1st page Create Listing using fix, category # held, brought me to 2nd page, it works, took me 2.69 seconds, hardly a long workaround! Try it, you`ll like it! Don`t think I`ll be collecting the $10.00 bet, this is the only place I`ve ever seen this problem anywhere on the net, leave it to Vendio to be the 1st to create this glitch, hope they are done messing around with the site for awhile. Mike

Well, I'll be damned! That's seems to work, Mike, although I don't think that the "nulls" I needed to check were the same as those posted in your "fix". Still, that's an odd way to have to do it! ;(
I hopes that it still works like that tomorrow, cuz' I'm too tired now from wading through this mess to go in and launch any new auctions today. ;(
My $10 offer still stands. I'd even pay it out to a Vendio or MSN employee who can fulfill the requirements I asked, if only to prove my point about the entire matter.

Sorry, Mike! Although I didn't LITERALLY thank you, it IS both implied and heartfelt! That's more help than ANYONE at Vendio has EVER offered!
