I have many pending auctions, all of which have gallery images selected. For some reason when I launch the auctions out of my pending auctions, when they get to ebay, the gallery image is no longer the one I selected, but "cleardot.gif". Ebay is telling me to change it to a JPEG.. but it's not even supposed to be cleardot.gif.
We have heard from a few others reporting odd error messages from eBay saying to corrrect their gallery pictures, but thus far the gallery photos have always been appearing regardless.
When we checked your listings, all did appear to have the gallery displaying properly.
Regards,
Christopher

That's because I edited them all by hand as per the emails I received from them. I didn't check before I edited them however, to see if they had been displayed properly.. I figured this would be impossible since ebay was talking a file called cleardot.gif, which is definitely not my gallery image.. so other people have gotten the same error emails, but their gallery images displayed fine?
The cleardot.gif image is the placeholder we send to eBay that tells them you have a gallery image attached to your item. The gallery usually gets updated within four hours of the launch of your listing. If this happens again please let us know how much time has elapsed, and provide us with some item numbers, so we can check into it further.

Well, you might want to consider using a JPEG as a placeholder, that way ebay won't spit out these error messages to people like me.. here's what ebay said :
Dear Seller:
DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE. SEE BELOW FOR INSTRUCTIONS.
Thank you for choosing to be part of eBay's Gallery! Unfortunately, your item
#3831441374
Case of Norton wood sanding Garnet paper 75ea
has not yet been added to the gallery.
The problem is:
Your image is in a format we cannot process:

Convert the image into a jpeg and repost to your web site.
When you are done, you can tell us where your new image is located by going to:
