I X'ed out the images I wanted deleted and went to the bottom of the page and tried to delete, but they stay there???
Hmmm... are you saying nothing at all happens when you click the delete button? There was a problem with the delete button when used with Mac systems, but I believe this was fixed. It doesn't appear that you are using a Mac, though - are you?
What should happen is a popup will appear asking you to confirm the deletion. Sometimes, as you are clicking other windows, this popup may get buried behind others. Please check your task bar to see if any open window contains the confirmation message.

I put my images in folders and then tried again and can't delete them. No other windows are open.

Sorry, am not computer literate but here goes. I have windows XP with Internet Explorer and have Stopzilla for my popup blocker
We recently released a fix that should address the Delete button problem if you use any version of Internet Explorer below 5.5. If you're still having trouble deleting, then try to change your popup blocker to accept popups from www.vendio.com. Let us know if this helps.

Hello evmb456,
We are currently checking into a few issues with the Compuserve application and the new image hosting layout/tools. For now, launch a copy of Internet Explorer directly rather than via the CS window and you should be able to delete your images this way.
We apologize for the inconvenience while we address this issue.
