Every once in a while, I have to use "restore items" in Sales Archives due to NPBs. I went in this morning to restore a few items that ended approximately 4 weeks ago, and they are not there. Actually more than half my auctions that have ended are not there.

My preferences are set to auto archive at 12 weeks...so where are my auctions?

Hello,

When you say that you went to restore these items, did you manually send them to the archives already?

Note that the automatic archive of closed listings is applied based on your preferences, however if you were to archive items prior to that, they would still only be available to restore for a short period of time once sent to the archives.

Since the item is so recent though, you can use your track option in the Sales Manager to bring it back into your account. From the Sales Manager page, simply click the track/import link along the left hand side of the page and use the track option and the item number to pull it back into your closed section.

Christopher

Hi Christopher!

I appreciate you replying.

When auctions end and are in "closed", I click on them and then click on "archive".

Actually I noticed when I was in "archive - restore items", more than half of my auctions are gone. This is the first time I have ever had this happen.

Hello-
Unfortunately, the items that are archived aren't in stored for long periods of time. You can reimport it using the Restore function, but note that this is available for only a limited time after the data is archived.

If you've archived certain items and can't find them with the restore, it's possible that they are still in your closed/post sale section of your Sales Manager. Without the item number as an example, it's hard to tell what exactly is going on for your situation.
Best Regards,

Thank you for replying, Darin...

I realize items don't stay in archives forever; but I have been using Vendio for quite a while, and my "archive - restore items" have always gone back a few months. And now they don't.

One of the items is #6119032756. A lot of the missing ones are from the same time this one closed.

I am aware there is an "import" option and also am familiar with how to use it; however, I have always used the archive restore feature, and am trying to find out why the majority of my auctions are gone.

I do appreciate the replies and suggestions by both and Christopher; but it's not answering my question.

Hello,

We certainly want to be able to address any possible issues with the archive tool, but also want to make sure we are on the same page as far as expectations are concerned.

When you mention the restore items in the archive section going back a few months, note that the option to restore recently archived data only works for items that were sent to the archives within the past 2 weeks.

If items from 3 months ago appear as available to restore from the archives, this is because they were only just sent to the archives within the past 2 weeks.

If you were to go to an item in the closed section and click to archive it, even if the item was only 1 day old, it would no longer be available to restore 2 weeks from the day you originally sent it to the archives.

If you sent these items to the archives more than two weeks ago, they will not be available to restore, so using the Track part of the import tool and the item number will be the best way to bring this back into your account for management.

Christopher

I just now restored an archived auction that closed on August 08, was archived shortly thereafter, and it now appears in my closed section. This is not the auction I needed; I restored it to see if, in fact, it could be done - as I have always done it.

I have used the archive tool many times, and have restored items from longer than two weeks ago.

I always set to view 50 items a page, and find it strange that I go from having 10 or more pages to having only four.

Vendio obviously made a change to this feature and failed to announce it.

Thank you for your replies.

Hello,

My apologies for any confusion, its a little complicated in how it works.

You could restore an item from 2 years ago if you wanted to, but only if that 2 year old item was sent to the archives within the past 2 weeks.

You could also be unable to restore an item from the archives from 3 weeks ago, if it was archived more than 2 weeks ago.

Nothing in that system has changed, the bottom line being that the only items available to restore are those that have been sent to the archives within the past 2 weeks, regardless of how old they actually are or weather you manually sent them there or if the system did so automatically based on your preferences.

Regards,
Christopher
